diy wedding cake

please ladies help me chose. I decided to diy our wedding together with my beautiful mom. 


We do a white lady baltimore cake with chantilly cream and raspberry filling for the bigger tear and chocolate,pear cinnamon almond for the smaller tear. 


we will do the basis ourselves. but we will order the icing cause it seems complicated to us.


please help me chose the cake shape.

Both are lovely. I would pick the round though, I think it may fit your theme better IMO.

ok cake two it is. round cake, and bow topper though :-)))


aaaaaaaaand the recipe for the basic cake is by silvia weinstock, alex nearly fainted when i made it the first time and there was no filling yet.

hope so, we order 2,5 kg´s of the stuff, plus the marzipan and the lilies.... the rest will be up to us. i just see a lot of giggling already.... keep your fingers crossed for us

Well I have DIYed some cakes and as a non pro I find the round shape easier to put icing on!


The square demands more professional skills in order for it not to look sloppy. So definitely I would go with the round one and also I would do a trial. Staking a cake is a bit tricky
