DJ Advice

My fiance is very insistent that we not have a "cheesy" DJ that talks a lot and makes announcements etc. If he had his way, we would have a guy who sits in the corner without a microphone. Does anyone have a DJ suggestion that might be up his alley? Do you think people will still dance, have fun, etc. if there's just music playing the whole time without announcements?

I've been to weddings with a cheesy DJ and others with one that fits your FI description. They were all fun. When meeting with potential DJ's be clear on what you're looking for. Some friends of mine made their entire playlist. It was great and everyone was dancing. The DJ made very few announcements...only to draw the guests' attention to the activity (cake-cutting, bouquet toss, etc.) If its a dancing crowd, good music will always get them going.
