DOC ???

So after little to moderate thought from me, and much much thought from FH, we've decided to hire a DOC. I've been looking online at different places...Just wanted to know, if you had a DOC what did they come with? And how much did you/are you paying for one. I've gotten quotes from $1300 up to $3200 for just day of services..Is that the average?

My DOC, I'm still two years out and I have no idea what I would do without her. We literally talk on a daily basis and she is SUCH a sweetheart! She's getting a hold of all of my details and loves hearing about my daily advances with the planning.

That being said, I'm getting her fiancee's DJ services (he's won best of Portland DJ 6 years in a row) for 8 hours and her DOC services for $2500. Technically she is $500 though.

She includes daily check ups, last minute vendor arrangement, and timeline. Basically, the last month before the wedding- I don't have to do anything. WOO! Love that idea :)

Keep checking around hon, but make sure to read reviews on EVERYONE!!!! I've been seeing average around Portland is about $800-$1300 (ish) for DOC services.

Okay. I'm looking in virginia beach because thats where the wedding will be. And I'm not seeing anything less than $1300. There was one for $2000 and she had like 40 different things that she did lol. She basically did like everything..like everything. I was actually blown away by all the things that she did, but i just can't see myself paying 2 grand for a DOC. Ill keep searching and reviewing tho. Thanks Hals

We had a wedding coordinator and they were worth every penny (we had the main coordinator and her assistant)!!  We didn't want to worry about things, and we didn't want family & friends to have to "work" on our wedding day as we wanted them to be guests and enjoy themselves.

In the city where I live your price range is accurate for day-of services (with some pre-wedding services, as well).  I think most will customize packages, so decide what you NEED and WANT from one and see what that will cost you.  If it's too much, try cutting out the wants to get it within your budget.

Our coordinator did initial meetings with us, we e-mailed, and we provided her with lot's of info (contact info for immediate family, bridal party, vendors, etc).  She scouted out our venues in advance.  Did all the set-up and tear down.  Queued the ceremony processional.  Offered advice.  Recommended vendors.  Found creative ways to use ceremony decorations at the reception (that we didn't plan).  Attended the rehearsal, and helped direct it along with the pastor.  And a lot of things I'm probably forgetting :)  I can also tell you that my parents (and us, too) trusted them implicitly, and my parents think they were a huge asset.

Mine is DOC and was $1200.  My lowest quote was $750, the highest was over $3k.  Mine is more than worth her cost.

My venue offers a DOC (who is actually the sales rep that we've been working with the whole time) for only $200. She helps with the rehearsal and DOC. I figured since I have no idea how things are supposed to go it is well worth the money

I hired a DOC (Misty from Cameo Events in Spokane, CDA, and Denver) for $40/hr plus the rehearsal for free. We're thinking 10 hours, so $400, but we had a 50% off coupon, so $200. She does two meet-ups right before the wedding, unlimited email/phone contact, timeline creation, coordination with vendors.

My DJ service comes with DOC services included in the price.  DJ cost us just under $1000, so I'm really happy with DOC services being included.

The DOC will come to town the day before the wedding and do a reception walk through and do a planning layout.

This husband and wife team has been a goldmine find for us.

My DOC was $625 and she was well worth it. She put together the timeline, ran our rehearsal, did all of the set-up on our wedding day, ran the whole day (making sure everyone was where they were supposed to be & everything ran smoothly) & cleaned up our whole reception.

@JessMark, ANOTHER VA GIRL! :)

My cousin is getting married in VA beach, and she finally decided she couldn't afford one down there.  I live up in DC, and I can't afford one up here either.  It seems in VA around the hot spots DOC's arent affordable.  What my cousin is doing (shes getting married in April) is that she one of her friends she couldnt put into the wedding into DOC.  MAybe thats an option?

But I do know DOCs in that area are super expensive to come by...try seeing if one in richmond will make the trip. It's a hike, but maybe if you offer for gas it wont be difficult?  Also look into Lynchburg/Huddelston area.  They might have one for a better price.

HTH!
