Dress + Hot Weather = Unhappy Bride

So I went for my first fitting and I never realized how many inside layers my dress had.  The alteration lady had her heat on inside the house but it wasnt too unbearable when I first came in.  I put my dress on and as she was putting the pins in to mark the dress my legs and back started to get all sweaty.  I never realized how hot I'd get in my dress and it never occured to me that with having an ourdoor wedding in Oct it might be hot under my dress.  I was thinking of possibly asking her to take out some of the layers under the dress bc there are like 4 layers but wasnt sure bc it might ruin the way the dress flows.   Ahh there are so many considerations with having an outdoor wedding its getting to be a bit stressful.

Yes you are so right... the first dress I had weighed a ton with all the sequins... Im so glad I bought another one... this one is light and airy and I just know I made the right choice, after all, May in Florida is real hot too!

Wow!!!  I would think they would make me TOO cold!

I wouldn't think an outdoor SF October wedding would be too hot, would it?

Generally towards end of summer theres this thing called Indian Summer where it gets really hot.  I've been checking past weather history in Oct and its ranged from high 80s-low 70s but with all this weird global warming, who knows?!  Crossing my fingers mid 70s would be perfect.

haha I want those ice packs! I'm having an outdoor JULY wedding with a long gown. I know it's going to be hot, but I'm not stressing. Worse comes to worse, I'll just change.

I love my dress although it really is not hot weather friendly. I absolutely abhor the heat. I sweat like running water...at least that is how I feel. I went in trying on dresses keeping the weather in mind, but then I felt like I was naked. So I figure I will suck it up and I will be okay. It is only the ceremony and cocktail hour that is outside. I am also considering purchasing another dress for the reception and dancing. So, we'll see.

In the meantime...note to self find those ice packs. :)

I can deal with a little sweat during the ceremony, but if I am a (not so) hot sweaty mess and begin melting - I might turn bridezilla. I'm thinking of looking into a commercial sized air conditioning unit for the reception space.

Hoop skirts! If you are wearing a ball gown choose a hoop skirt over crinoline. It holds the fabric away from your legs so it's nice and breezy. :) As soon as that was put under my gown I sighed in relief and instantly felt so much better.
