Dress Too Small?

Hi there, I was wondering if any of you ladies hae ever purchased a dress that was too small for you? I am buying a "gently used" Maggie and it is one size too small. My wedding isn't for another year and a couple months away. I have been exercising, eating well etc. and have lost 30 pounds to date, hence why I figured one size smaller wouldn't be a massive deal. Plus I am saving about a grand. Thoughts? Experiences?

Most Maggie dresses are corsets, and if that is the case with this dress then you have nothing to worry about!

However, if it isn't, then it's about iffy. If you're consistenly losing weight, then it MIGHT be okay, but you need to be okay with the fact that you have to work your butt off and be pretty strict. Honestly though, one size isn't that big of a deal. If it were 4 sizes that'd be one thing, but I don't think there's any harm in getting a dress a little small and saving a bunch of money.

You sound like you're on the right track! All of my friends have ordered dresses that were a size or two smaller, and they all worked out fine. You also have plenty of time so just don't slip!

Then you're totally fine! I wear a size 6 normally in dresses, and I wore a Maggie that was a corset back for an inspiration shoot and it was a 10. It needed to be taken in a bit in the bust, but honestly it didn't have to be done. VERY wearable and easily fixed :)

I think you will definitely be ok. I had the exact same thing happen to me as ridegrl1. I'm a 6 and I ordered a Maggie and my consultant said my measurements had me inbetween an 8 and 10. My dress is a corset so that gave me a little room too. I decided to go with the 10 and just have it taken in in some areas, rather than worrying about possibly having to let it out. A lot of designer dresses seem to run weird in their sizes.
