We have family in Los Angeles as well as Sacramento and Washington. It was a mutual decision to have the wedding in Napa at the Beaulieu Gardens. Beaulieu makes some of our favorite wines and we would love to share that with our family and friends!

We were originally doing a semi DW wedding, since the venue was about a 4 hour drive from where we live.

My FI and I decided that it was a bit too much of a hassle trying to plan a wedding and not being able to meet vendors, etc, since he has such a busy school schedule. And really, the only reason we were having our wedding so far away is so that it was closer to the majority of our friends and family - all of which would gladly travel a little for our wedding.

So...we moved it! Now we're having our wedding at a spot about 25 minutes from our home, and we love it! So far planning everything is way easier, and less expensive. Yay!

still deciding but I think a Hometown wedding the more i think about it the more excited I get.  The amount of money is not so fun; ( for a hometown VS DW. I will be talking to my mom and Fiance this weekend about the best option for us.

We originally wanted a semi DW (a location we both liked that was equidistant of our parents homes as I am from SD and my fiance is from IA.  My parents did not approve of that idea.  So I gave them a challenge.  Find a location that fits our vision and we'll do it there.  My mother found it-30 minutes from my house.  Fiance loved the place too!  His mother's side of the family is from my area so it isn't too horrible!  Probably about 5% of our guest list doesn't have family ties to the area.
