e-ring at your ceremony.. right hand?

what do you do with your e-ring? do you wear it on your right hand until after the ceremony and then slip it back on infront of your new band? im sure i can do "what ever i want" but i was just curious what people typically do. i was half tempted to have FI put my band and my ring on my finger, but i didnt know if that would be a little much lol.

My ring doesn't fit on my right so I had DH's brother (best man) hold on to both rings. The priest blessed the wedding bands, DH put it on and after the mass BM gave me my E-ring. Whatever you decide to do will work out just fine!

I'll have my e-ring (which actually is a band!) in my right hand and slip it on the left after the ceremony. I sometime tried to wear it in my right hand just to "practice" and seriously...it feels really weird! I'll be happy to put it back where it belong as soon as possible!

I actually put my ring on my right hand during the ceremony and switched it back afterwards.

I like to wear mine on the left hand because it's the side of the heart (silly I know). I will wear my wedding band there too!

I wore mine on my right hand during the ceremony, then switched it back.  If I hadn't been able to do that, I would've had my sister wear it during the ceremony and give it back after.

I gave it to my matron of honor to wear and she gave it back to me after the ceremony was over.

I'm using my engagement ring as my only wedding ring (I don't like the band), so I'm not wearing it at all during or before the ceremony. It will be tied to the ring bearer's pillow. But I think wearing it on your right hand is traditionally what's done:)

I had mine on my right hand...and it was my father's job to make sure it was there before we walked!!! I then switched it once we got into the holding room after the ceremony and before pictures.

As I was getting ready, I moved it to my right ring finger, and after the ceremony (before pictures), I moved it back to the left.

Yea, love this post! I am getting my e-ring and band saudered together because of the way they fit together...So it looks like I won't be wearing a ring all of that day! I'm still not sure what we'll do! I want to get them put together before the wedding, so I can wear it after the ceremony of course! I'm tossed up! ugh

actually, the Best Man had both my wedding band and my e-ring....and after we exchanged rings, we had our officiant read a little verse about the symbolism of the e-ring, and then DH put it on me as well....so i had my band closest to my heart, and the e-ring on top of it :)

"Groom," please take "Bride's" engagement ring. The engagement ring is a symbol of promise and intention. Now the intention is realized and the promise fulfilled. Please place the engagement ring on "Bride's" finger over her wedding band to symbolize that the love that brought you together will always protect and sustain your marriage.

My MOH held my e-ring until after the ceremony. Strangely my ring finger is larger on my right hand than on my left.

well the only reason you move it is because your wedding band should be first on your finger, then your e-ring on the outside of it. so you're only moving it for your ceremony! :)

I'm going to wear it on my right hand, when they get the rings DJ is going to slip on the wedding band then get my e-ring and then put them on at the same time so that they are both blessed. :)
