ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS - BAY AREA

Guys ~

My fiance and I are driving up to San Francisco the weekend of October 24th for our engagement photos. We are from SoCal in Northridge, CA. Couple questions for all you bay area brides:

1) Any suggestions of nice parks/areas to take photographs???

2) What should I wear? Isn't it always cold in San Francisco???

Advise please chicas...

I'm in the same boat. We're doing engagement photos just a few weekends before in SF. FI will definitely wear jeans and I'm thinking I may do the same because of the weather. Despite the cold, it may just be too windy for a dress though I'm thinking I can always take another change of clothes.

Hey Aussie! Yes, I originally wanted a dress! Will end up in jeans and a nice top too. Do you know what locations to shoot at?

We did ours at the Ferry Building, along the embarcadero and at the Japanese Tea Garden.  Golden Gate Park has a lot of nice spots for pictures like the the Botanical Gardens or by the Merry Go Round or the DeYoung Museum.  There is also a really pretty waterfall in Golden Gate Park.  You can also go to Union Square or along the Marina or by Yuerba Buena Garden - those are nice places to take pictures.

I wore a long sleeve top and then a nice top with jeans.  The weather is pretty unpredictable here. It can be really hot or really cold.  Bring different outfits just in case.

We did our e-pics in Marina, very beautiful sunset view, with golden gate bridge in the background, but it was a little bit cold there at that time (March), it should be a good time now. But better bring a walm jacket just in case. And we also took some evening pictures at union square and on the Cable car.

We did our e photo 81346-1

Also another nice spot in the bay is the Stanford campus in Palo Alto. I didn't realize how nice it was until I saw my friends engagement photos.

You're welcome.

Just an FYI, Palo Alto isn't as windy/cold as SF. Palo Alto is about half hour drive from the city.

were you looking for only san fran locations that are going to be "wow - that's san fran" or are you looking for more city-scapes and not overtly SF??

d1rtymart1n1, NO, I'm not really going for the location that boasts San Fran, since my fiance and I are not even from SF. It just happened that our photographer is doing a wedding there and suggested we drive up to take some nice scenic e-photos. We're not even taking pics by the bay bridge - it has no significance to "us" but I do know that SF has a lot of nice scenic park places to offer.

So I'm looking for more city-scapes.

i forgot what photog's blog it was.. but there was an e-pic i loved...

the couple kissing in front of a moving bart train - reminded me of the "stillness and calmness" i feel when i'm with fh - even if the world around me is chaotic and going a bajillion miles an hour...
