Engagement pics locations in Orange County or Los Angeles

I am starting to think about locations for my engagement session. My photog gave me a detailed list of locations but I am wondering where have you girls done them or plan to.

FI and I had engagement pictures at a park by our house.

You can do them at the Getty Museum or Villa. I actually think Santa Ana Zoo is a pretty cool spot too.

My FI is over a foot taller than me so I hated the idea of e-pictures on a beach where I couldn't wear my heels! =)

We're doing them by the railroad tracks over in torrance, a site suggested by the photographer.

Photographers like to utilize those "power hours" right before sunset or just after sunrise for the perfect light outdoors. They'll have a very limited time to direct good poses and take some candid shots. That's why it's extra, extra important to make sure your photographer's familiar with the location you choose.

Take your photographer's suggested locations or have them visit the site beforehand so they can study the area.

=) Good luck!

I did some at a park, but then when I switched photographers, I wanted to do something that fit our personality.

So, we took them at a miniature golf park in Irvine that was full of color.

They made the photos really POP!

We took our engagement pictures at two locations. The first one was at the Santa Monica Beach because I really wanted beach pictures, walking barefoot in the sand and in the water. Then the following day we went to a park because I also wanted pictures on the grass with trees in the background, and some pictures on the bridge at the park. You can really take your engagement pictures anywhere you want. Any place that means something to the two of you as a couple or a place with your personality. Just let the photographer know ahead of time so he can check out the place of your chose for picture ideas.

union station or at the disney hall in downtown area los angeles are nice places. just make sure your photographer talks to the security guard at union station if you plan to go there for photo and if your photog hasn't done photos there before.

The French Estate in Orange county would be really nice and it's just a few minutes away from the Orange Circle where there are also a lot of great photo opts, there's even an old soda fountain where you can take pictures up at the bar with handcrafted milshakes and sundae's!

I did my engagement session at Balboa Beach Pier (b/c my fiance and I met there!) and it was awesome. We were able to make use of the grass area, the fun zone, and the pier. Since I've shared my photos, I've heard nothing but compliments. If you want a location that's fun and offers many opportunities for places to shoot other that on the sand next to the water, this is definitely a winner!

If you want to check out my vintage beach engagement shoot at Balboa Pier in Newport for some ideas, check out my MeaningfullySimpleWedding blogspot!
