Etiquette Question: Vow Renewal, What Is Appropriate?

I am trying to plan our vow renewal without stepping on anyones toes.
What do you think is appropriate for a vow renewal and what isn't?
For example... I am considering asking a few of the girls who were by my side as bridesmaids on our wedding day to be by my side at our vow renewal, of course wording it differently. Is that appropriate or is that just crazy?
What other things do you think are or are not appropriate for a vow renewal?

I guess that's the question... is it bad to ask them to buy a dress for the ceremony since 5 years before our vow renewal they bought one? Granted, those dresses only cost around $20-$30 because I was trying to make everyone happy.

ok...ask your self what is your color scheme...which i think we have the same one...LOL (great minds think alike)...ask them to wear the color of dresses and this will still look good...and if they support you then this shouldnt matter or dont have no bridesmaids or grooms men but have them as GUEST OF HONOR....hav ethem sit in the front row while you and your hunny recite yall vows...you can still do it this way ....how every you want to do it hunni...ill keep thinking ok...

Thank you. This is so confusing... I am wanting to go "all out" but at the same time do it while not stepping on anyones toes.
