Even playing field

Would it be odd to ask bridesmaids to wear flats?

I'm only 5'1 and I'll be everyone's normal height in my Louboutins {teehee}

i think you certainly can ask.  i am a shorter bride too and all but one of my BMs were taller than me, but it really didn't matter much to me.  as the bride, you always stand out no matter what!  it's your day!  =)

i've been a BM though, and while we want to please the bride, it's also nice to feel comfortable, so be careful to limit them too much.  the best times i've had as a BM was with a chill bride who let me pick my own shoes and hairstyle.  i don't know your gals though, and if you think they would be fine with it, then just ask!

I don't think there is anything wrong with asking them to do that!

 It was just a thought.  I'm not even sure if I will just yet......

Here is the dress I have in mind for them.....it will be convertible and they will wear the tulle skirt for the ceremony and the beaded under skirt for reception (:

I can actually see this with a nice sparkly flat

 I agree, I think that dress would look nice with a fancy flat.

My MOH had to wear fkats with her dress. She's tall and when they measured her they didn't say anything about her height. and having to order it longer. Well it came in and it barely touched the floor barefoot. She wans't happy about being the only one in flats, but I'm sure if the shoes are pretty enough and everyone is wearing them, they should be fine!

 It would help if you put a great spin on it. Say.."nice sparkly flats" that has a nice, unusual touch to it,lol. But you have to realize that some people cant walk too well in flat shoes, especially if they are used to wearing some form of heels all the time. The gait can be kinda different.

Stunning dresses!! I LOVE how much fun you are having with this...it shows in every aspect of  your renewal :)

IMO it doesn't really matter the height of either you or the maids, but if you want them all to wear flats or even a specific shoe, it's perfectly okay to ask them.

I have a bridesmaid who will be 8 months pregnant and is actually asking to wear flats.  You never know--even if they are not with child, the BMs might prefer it!

I don't think that it would be odd at all!
