eyelash extensions......

i don't know if there has been a post about this already, is anyone getting them done? i'm considering it bc i don't have eyelashes but i do want to wear fake eyelashes, bc i don't want to wear tooo much eyeliner and i want my eyes to stand out in my pictures. {does that make sense?}

i'm in southern cali, let me know if you know of any good places that won't break my budget.

thanx =)

I wore false lashes on my wedding day...they lasted all day. A cheap alternative to the extensions!

i would start with fake lashes then if you feel you need more then you can do extensions

try ardell lashes. they sell them in beauty stores and target. it costs around 3 bucks and it looks good, it doesn't look too fake like the others

I just checked this out and a few Pro Beauty Experts (1 is a Make-up artist, 1 my eyebrow woman) warned me against it. It's expensive, doesn't last that long and can pull out your lashes if not done well. Like Lori and Pinay I vote for false eyelashes

Have you tried the Mac false lashes? Easy to use, although practice makes perfect. They are around $15 and are by far the most natural and yet very glamorous looking that I have seen.

i use the individual false eyelashes. they look very natural and some people can't even tell at all that im wearing false eyelashes. u can get them at the local beauty supply stores. they cost around $2-$3 for a pack. one time i wore them and they lasted up to 2 weeks!! HTH!

I believe my stylist is going to use false eyelashes, too. I didn't use them in my trial, but she did make mention of it.

I have pretty long eyelashes in general, but this would add some great drama. :)

I've had extensions on for almost 2 years now. I was so happy when this came out because I have no eyelashes. They are so comfortable and last a super long time. I get them filled like acrylic nails, every 3 weeks. I am in Orange County and the girl that does it for me is really reasonably priced. Where in So Cal are you located, my girl is in Huntington Beach, I can refer you. Let me know if you have any questions, these things are the best inventions. The down side is it takes a long time to put on. The first session is about 2 hours and the fills are an hour.

My mom just gave me a product she's been using called Revitalash. She started using it b/c she had really short lashes and now, swears by this stuff. She said it actually grew her lashes where she didn't have any before and made those that she did have stronger and longer. I've heard some great reviews from people, that if you're willing to wait about 3 weeks and are diligent about using it every night, then you'll have amazing results. There's been some controversy around the product though it hasn't been confirmed. I'd do some research before starting it. I already have long lashes, but I think a girl can never have too long of eyelashes, so I thought I'd try it.

My friend had them and I loved them too, she said you just have to be willing to keep up on the maintenance. If its just for the wedding though- you probably could do the makeup how you want with the false eyelashes? Maybe just practice or if you have someone doing your makeup she should know how...

Speaking of curled eyelashes, has anyone heard of eyelash perming?? My hairdresser recently told me about it. She says people get their eyelashes tinted and permed. The process takes about half an hour and costs about $35. I am thinking of doing this because I have long eyelashes but just can't get them to curl!! I don't need the tint because they're alredy black, but I'm intrigued by this new idea of perming your eyelashes. Has anyone does this??

I read about eyelash extensions by Shu Uemura Atelier at South Coast Plaza (http://www.shuuemura-usa.com/content/AtelierServicesFAQ.aspx) - they're pretty expensive, but the article I read said it was totally worth it - they last about 3 weeks and then just fall out naturally on their own, lash by lash. I was intrigued - I have pretty thick eyelashes naturally, but I liked the idea of not wearing mascara (see previous thread about crying!) - and also I want to look good on two consecutive days. However, I don't think I'm going to do it as my makeup artist has false eyelashes included in her price, and Costa Mesa is quite a schlep from where I live.

make sure you get a person with lots of experience.
i had them last year and will never do them again.
when they fell out, they pulled my real eyelashes out with them. my right eye was missing 3/4 :(

i'll only do falsies now.

I agree on the Ardell Lashes at Target (or Walgreen's or Long's, etc.)...that's what the pro make-up artists for the opera use and it's what I used on my Big Day. I got the 110's in black. I wore waterproof mascara too, since my eyelashes are naturally a medium brown. I also wore Revlon Colorstay liquid eyeliner in brown-black and even in the heat and humidity of Hawaii coupled with the emotions of the day, everything totally stayed in place...no smudges whatsoever!

if you want to do extensions, i'd say try it out a month or 2 before your wedding, just to see how it feels. never having done it before and thought about the possibility, i'm paranoid to get extensions the week of my wedding for the very first time and then realize the glue causes my skin to break out or something haha. maybe i'm overthinking it.

I was going to go with the extensions but instead im going with the false that they put on one at a time. I chose this because the extensions take two hours and you have to get them filled sort of like nails...their like getting a weave...

A very good friend of mine is an incredible high-fashion makeup artist. She swears by false eyelashes. According to her, she says that if applied correctly, they'll last all day/evening and give a very romantic look in pictures.
