You mean false eyelashes that you glue on?
I had them done for that inspiration shoot a few months back (there were only 4 total added) and I was indifferent about them, though my lashes are already really long and full.
It's completely a matter of preference, but if you do decide to get them make sure that your MUA or another professional does them!
I do not recommed eyelash extensions. They may fall out - taking your own eyelashes with them, and they dont all come out at the same time, so you look a little funny with a few long ones here and there. If you want to try them, you should do them now and see if you like them.
I DO recommend false eyelashes that your MUA can apply for the day, and you can take off after when you have a shower. They look just as good (better imo).
Also false eyelashes just for the day are MUCH much cheaper. :)
i like false the extension eyelashes..
Check out this video from YouTuber xPrincessJessex, she interviews a spa, and then films the process. It's full of info!
I want to try this sometime, I have pathetic lashes. But I have no special occasions that will justify it.
my sister had them, they made her natural lashes fall out
Personally I wouldn't do them. A friend of mine did hers for her wedding and most of her real lashes fell out too.
Check out my wedding bio pics. I did extensions and I loved everything about them. No mascara during HM was probably one of the best things ever! Never mind no mascara during wedding cry scenes, double score! I think they look more natural than the strips and they didn't bother me one bit.
Natural lashes fall out anyway. The extensions just fall out with them naturally. I didn't have any issues with missing eyelashes. Honestly if I had the cash I would get them done all the time.
I had my MUA put mine on and I'm pretty sure the ones she had can be bought at any local drug store..... I loved them, I loved how my eyes were enhanced and they were super comfortable and I didn't even realize I had them on
There is no way I'd let those things near my eyes again. I had them on for over 3 months and at the end my natural lashes were 1/2 the length and 1/2 the fullness they were before. Of course, I loved them in the beginning. My mom even got certified to apply them (though she didn't really ever apply them to me because by the time she got certified I barely had any more lashes left to attach falsies to). I just spoke to a big time makeup artist a couple weeks ago who was certified in lash extensions also, she said she refuses to use them or apply them anymore because they do in fact damage the natural lash (your natural lash can't bear the weight, however slight, of those falsies and the glue - it makes them fall out). Of course, having them for just a couple weeks might not do too much damage, but it's not worth the trouble or expense IMO. Strip lashes look way better for photos anyway.
I already have really long and full lashes, but I did get lash extensions for my wedding and I loved them. I took super good care of them and when they fell out my real lashes were all still in place. That was a "special treat" for the big day so I didnt have to worry about it. Now I get an eyelash perm and semi permanent mascara put on, since my lovely lashes hold their own. You have to go get some HIGH quality lashes if you're going the extension route, no cheaping out cause it does make a difference.
I do them faithfully and mine nvr came out But then again I wouldnt care because i wear them all the time. But if ur concerned do the strips
My best friend used them as a prevention of racoon eyes from crying. It had the opposite result. When she cried, they came off one by one. It was an absolute disaster.
I would still be very careful because it sounds like its maybe an individual thing (some people react badly to them and others don't). My experience was definitely not a matter of cheaping out, I paid $375 + tip for a master stylist to put them on at a salon that specializes in lash extensions (http://www.thelashlounge.com/pages/services.html). They are probably the most well known place in all of Dallas/Fort Worth. I cared for them meticulously (didn't let any makeup remover or face wash near them, didn't use mascara on them, made sure to sleep on my back so I wouldn't smoosh them, gently patted the water away when showering, etc.). And I went back every 2 weeks for fills. Even with all of that my natural lashes STILL looked like someone took a machete to them after 3-4 months of having them on. I had pretty long and full lashes before hand too. A stylist friend said that she knows someone who has used them for 2 years and she literally only has a handful of natural lashes left, and now is dependant on using strip lashes.
Clearly this doesn't happen to everyone, but it did happen to me and a couple of my sisters who had them done.
I definitely would go with the false eyelashes over extensions.
lexic, that is too bad, I really think you are not an exception. I heard that so so foten. and my sister had the same problem.
I would recommend the white lancome mascare basis plus doll eyes by lancome. try this, in case you really were not convinced, get removable falsies. I use the lancome and people ask me all the time if I have extensions. so I guess it does the job
