Fall decorating ideas

With the kiddos going back to school soon and the nights getting cooler, I can't help but think that fall is fast approaching. Which means that it's not too late to start gathering ideas for some harvest-time decor! So let's see that pretty autumn inspiration, ladies!

I'll start:

Using a dark brown wool felt, make a band for pillar candles. Then from a lighter shade, trace and cut out the letters to spell out whatever you'd like (AUTUMN, GIVING THANKS, and THANKSGIVING are all great ideas) and glue them to the darker band. Intersperse with pumpkins, gourds, or fall flowers for a pretty centerpiece or shelf decor:) source

Paint some pumpkins! The possibilities are endless, and they look so pretty.

Oh my gosh, I love all of these! As a teacher, I'm always sad to see summer end, but I still absolutely love fall! Bring on the sparkly pumpkins!

EEEEEKKKK!! You totally read my mind @littlebit! I am so freaking excited to decorate for the fall season. I have two little ones that live with me (my sister's kids) and I can't wait to get all artsy with them! I love love love the leaf wreath! When the time comes, I think I will take the kiddos on a nature walk to gather leaves and create at the home. Thanks for the inspiration! :)

Yay for fall! Here are some other ideas to do with your sister's kiddos, @Jaryce21!

Paint a piece of wood the color(s) of your choice and trace a leaf shape onto it with a pencil, then go over your pencil line with school glue. Gather some dried fall leaves and crunch them up into small bits, and sprinkle over for some great fall art!

And here's a different leaf wreath idea using acutal leaves from your back yard!

Fall leaf wreath

What you'll need

1 grape vine wreath
4 bunches of leaves (from the craft store or garden)
Floral picks (4 inches)
Floral wire

Directions

  1. Wire 5 leaves to a floral pick, creating small bundles of leaves.

  2. Trim the floral pick to 3 inches.

  3. Working from side to side on the front of the wreath, insert the leaf bundles into the grape wreath form.

  4. Cover the wreath with leaves, working in the same direction, until the entire wreath form is complete.
