try mybarong.com... here's the link http://www.mybarong2.com/index.php?osCsid=6b6eb0f84c7245e31492132a7b56d851

i believe the guy is from L.A. .. but doesn't have a store front.
you're up north right? i don't know any stores up north... but as far as timing went for us.. (and if it's only 1 barong you have to worry about then it shouldn't be a prob. to get it in time as long as you order by the weekend) it took about 8-10 weeks to get the order. we had to wait some time bc not everyone went right away to get measured and then we had to do some measuring ourselves.

mos def give a call to whatever vendor you decide to use right away. maybe they can work something out with you and nolan.

that's cool he wants to wear a barong. =) but yea it is an added exspence.. i'll write more later hopefully, Jonas is eating EVERYTHING on the floor! LOL gotta stop him!

ok.. i got him to focus on something else for a quick minute.. if he really wants it.. definitely make the trip to daly city.. i didn't want to go to panorama city (filipino town in the San Fernando Valley) but ended up making the trip.. is a full shot of JPs get-up

if you go, you can really see the different choices they have and get something custom made if you want color or a specific design.

dirty, are you based in NorCal? there's a big barong store in vallejo - http://barongandformal-vallejo.com/. check them out. i went there before my trip to the PI so i could familiarize myself with all the different types and they have a pretty good variety. there are different materials you will need to pick from - jusi, pina-jusi, pina or pina silk. for weddings, they recommend the groom wear pina or pina silk (best quality).

i don't know about having custom ones made here but it only takes a week back in Manila - FI's arriving on the sunday before the wedding and we're having him measured that same day. we already picked out his barong material but he is losing weight so no sense making it now.

let me know if you have more questions. ms sumomomo got hers made in the PI, and i think insuregrl had her family bring hers from the PI too.

Dirty - That's so cute your FI wants to wear a barong. I absolutely love the look of barong rather than a suit of tux, no pun intended. Anyhow, there are a lot of tailor in hawaii that makes barong. I don't know anyone in particular, I just read it somewhere that it's a common practice. Maybe you can post at the knot hawaii board or ask a hawaii bride around. If you are interested, PM and I will give you the info of my dad's friend. He flew to US from PI to measure the guys and show us material then flew again to deliver the barong. The prices varies from design and material. The tailor we used has 1 week or 24 hours TAT..so I figure other tailor will be able to finish a barong for the same amount of time.

I like the GM barong, Jenni! The colors are nice. Dirty, if you are in the LA area, try checking out the Eagle Rock Mall. It is close to Glendale/Pasadena.

I hope you find it soon. Keep us posted on your search.

My dad speaks ilocano too but I don't understand it. My aunts/uncles always laugh when my dad cusses in that language. I understand tagalog though. I want to order TFC so I don't forget the language.

Dirty, did you buy your FG dresses? Eagle Rock has nice dresses for a good price. The Glendale Galleria has affordable FG gowns too. It's located on the second floor across Sanrio.
