Finding a reception hall !!!!!! PLZ HELP ! New to this!

Ok... Guys, i"m looking for a nice venue in the bronx, new rochelle or Brooklyn area ....i have a tight budget but I might be willing to stretch it a lil ...

Im looking to spend 100pp-125pp
Have everything included if possible
Or a place where i can bring outside food
Willing to have the event in the afternoon ( if this means it can be cheaper)

Idk if my expectations are unrealistic ... I would like some help in the right direction plzzzz HELP

Congratulations and welcome to PW!!! I am also not from around that area but have you tried a google search of possible vendors in your area? That is where I started. I also networked with friends on Facebook and actually, that is how I found my venue for my reception. Good luck in your search!

You are already ahead of the game because you have set a budget. What I did is call around and let venues know upfront what my budget was. I refused to go looking at places that I knew were not in my budget, but would love and get crestfallen if I couldn't have it. Having an event in the afternoon, or a Friday or a Sunday will make things considerably cheaper as well. I suggest calling the venues, give them your budget and go from there. There are venues that will work with you because they want the business. I am not sure of prices in New York, but if you can spend 100 per person, that is way generous! In Michigan, the going average for a really nice meal with drinks included, depending on where you go, is less than that. Would you consider a hall?

Welcome to PW and we will definitely try and help you find a venue.  Have you checked here on the site with the vendors for NY/Brooklyn area?

I live about 45 minutes away from NYC, so I will see what I can come up with too for you. I do know that Sundays are probably the cheaper day for this area and many venues might be offering deals right now.

Glad that you have joined us on the boards!!!

Would you be willing to travel to Central NJ? There is one location that I found that is offering a buffet style wedding from $48.95 per person.

Here is the link if you would like to take a look.

Definitely check out the links the ladies have posted already. I wish I could help more, but I live on the west coast, and have never even been to NY! I definitely suggest reasearching and calling like crazy.

Another thing might be to think outside the box. Did you have a certain amount of guests you're thinking of? People have had great weddings at restaurants, libraries, and or art galleries, etc! Maybe google, 'outside of the box new york wedding venues?' I dunno. lol. Good luck and let the venue researching gods be on your side :D

Tressy, when I saw that place, I was like VOW RENEWAL.  LOL.  I am so curious to see what it looks like, so I might have to drag DH there to go and see.  : )
