First pre-natal apt with sono pic!
hi ladies! this morning DH and i had our first pre-natal visit. i was worried bc i had light spotting this week and minor cramping so i wasn't sure what to expect. we met with a nurse to go over the basics and the testing options, the billing department for all that fun stuff, and then the dr for an exam. im really squeamish with drs so i was dreading an exam, but he was awesome. they did a pelvic exam and a culture, and then he did a doppler to check the heart beat. he warned us he may not be able to find it since it's easier at 12 weeks and on, so i tried to not panic when he couldn't find it.
so since i had some bleeding he opted for an ultra sound which i had to wait 3 hours for...grueling! we finally got in and the tech said she'd check on the screen first to make sure everything was ok and then she'd put it on the main screen. within seconds she was satisfied, and we saw our baby! everything is looking good, baby was kicking and waiving all over the place and the heartbeat was strong. im measuring right at 9w 5d, and the spotting is coming from the cervix which is normal and not a cause for concern. i was also interested to find out that the back pains i have been having are due to the placenta tunneling on my back wall, and baby is on the right side which i've had some soreness on.
i guess the stress of not finding a heart beat was worth it since we got an ultra sound instead! :) here's our favorite pic
the head is on the right and the hands are on either side, and a leg kickin' out on the bottom!
fingers crossed everything continues well!
