Fit flops?

Has anyone used fit flops before? It's supposedly gives your legs a workout just by walking normally in them. I wonder if it really works. I kind of like the red one, but the white sole might get dirty easily. Does the black one look too manly though?

Oh I saw an article on those! I was curious myself, no clue if it does help or not?

Hmm, I wonder how much they cost? I wouldn't mind working out while looking stylish during the day.

Hmmm I found some mixed reviews of these shoes from some sites in the UK..

I am wearing FitFlops as I read this. A family member purchased them for me to try out (I?m considered their expert as I have been a personal trainer for some time). I have to say, I can feel that they do work some of the leg muscles. However, they are difficult to walk in initially. I had to walk around the house and yard a few times before I braved wearing them out. (Note: you can tell there is a wobble board in them?they almost feel like thick flip-flops.) Now that I am used to walking in them, they are SUPER comfortable - no doubt about that - but tough to say whether or not they are actually working the muscle groups claimed in the advertising. I agree - some university studies would be nice and some medical opinions about such products is important.

So, I don?t think they are a miracle but not a total rip off either?.if you are just looking for a great, comfortable pair of flops to walk around in.

I've had my fit flops for a couple of weeks now (great ordering service from Harvy Nichols) and my personal verddict is that they just aren't up to MBTs. The principle of instability works (as it does in the gym with wobble boards or power plates), however the range of instability / movement is not as great as with MBTs and so the results don't feel so significant - though of course with MBTs, you have to walk correctly to get that range of movement whereas fitflops do it for you. They are of course substantially less hideous than MBTs although they're also far less comfortable - I also got blisters from the toe divider initially.

I think those are cute but I don't know if I can wear them to work? Then again, there's a guy at my company who sometimes doesn't even wear shoes. That's engineering. =)

Ok I give in. I am about to buy a black pair of these. Every little thing helps, plus I need new flip flops anyway.

My sister bought them and I tried them out for a day. I honestly didn't feel a thing and she hasn't experienced any type of improvement that she's noticed.

I have a pair of the black ones. Not the cutest flip flops but they are so comfortable. They are a little funny to walk in but I tell everyone about how great they are. I have wide feet and they fit me perfect so if u have narrow feet they will be big. The straps go all the back on your foot so it would be difficult for the fit flops to slide off. My only negative feedback is after having them for 3 months they have started to smell a little. Not bad but enough that I can tell. I have noticed a differance in my lower body.

whoa samanthakat, thanks for the tip! I just ordered a pair for $25 from Avon. When the original came out they were $200! That was a few years ago but I was not willing to shell out that much for flip flops! Especially if they didn't do anything. Plus they were REALLY ugly when they first came out, these are a little more discreet! Heck, for $25 that's how much some normal flip flops are so we'll see ;)
