Flowers

Hi ladies,

It's been awhile. I hope you are all doing well. I have been very busy. I was out of town for a couple of weeks for work. Also, all my free time (weekends) are taken by traveling out of town for wedding stuff and visiting relatives.

I have a question regarding flowers. I want to buy flowers in bulk and make my bouquet and the bridesmaids bouquets myself. Florists are just too expensive. I have been searching online and so far Sam's Club seems to be the cheapest. Are there any other brides out their who did this? If so, what was your experience like? Any words of wisdom for me? Is Sam's Club a good choice or is there a better choice? When is the best time to purchase the flowers?

Thank you for all your help ladies!

If you're going to buy your flowers like two or so days in advance, don't store them in the fridge. The chemicals from the food makes them wilt and brown faster. They need to be a cool, dry place. If you or someone you know has a cold storage, that would work wonderfully. Maybe a basement. Lots of water. Add a little bleach to the water. Less than a cap full. It's just to kill the bacteria.

Also, if you're going to go with a grocery type deal give them a call and make sure they have the flowers you want in stock all the time. Maybe ask them about when their deliveries come in so you can get fresh stock and then work that around your prep time. Blah, blah, blah :)

Hope that helps! Good luck!

There are some great alternatives to flowers. You should check out button bouquets and broach bouquets too! I love these!
