For the Honeymoon - my camera is not waterproof...do I need one?

We are leaving for Punta Cana on Tuesday...SO excited! We just signed up for a reef tour where you swim with nurse sharks and stingrays...I'm assuming it would be neat to have pictures of this but our digital cameras are the simple kind and not waterproof.

I'm sure the tour sells those cheapo disposable cameras that are waterproof - should I get one of those (do people even use those anymore??) or look at other options?

Hey Sam! I think you should get a disposable camera when you get there and yes people still use them unless you want to spend a couple of hundred bucks on a new waterproof camera!

That's so exciting about your honeymoon!! I can't wait to see pictures. YOU BETTER POST PICTURES! Lol. Have a ball and don't get stung by any stingrays!

So exciting!! Like Tressy said, you should definitely be able to pick one up there!

Right before our honeymoon, I found a waterproof video cam/digital cam. It doesn't take the best photos, but the videos are great! We got it at Sam's club for like $95. I think it was a Kodak easy share.

Hey Sam!

I actually bought a $60 waterproof digital cam before our honeymoon. I posted pics of our hm in my bio. Like Jess said, it doesn't take the best photos out of water, but hey its waterproof! I honestly won't be using it, and I was going to sell mine. Should I pm you?

A waterproof camera is a great idea. You'll definitely use it after the honeymoon even for every day stuff. We bought this one after our trip to Cuba last year (we went scuba diving for the first time, fell in love, and were determined to be able to take photo's underwater on our next trip). We actually use this one all the time in my moms pool, at the beach etc. I have pro DSLR's so lugging them around for fun times isn't very convenient but this waterproof is simply my daily point and shoot.

If you're not excited about spending $160 + tax on a waterproof camera this one is only $99 and will definitely do the trick.
