FOREGO THE REHEARSAL

Hey ladies. I have a dilemma. I can save 500 by renting tbe venue o e day only. With that being said that means our rehearsal has to be somewhere else, tbe morning of the wedding or just skip it. I am actually ok with skippinv it. What do you think? Our flower girls are only carrying signs down the aisle. Im sure our wedding party can handle walking down the aisle. We are having no ring bearer.

We didn't have our rehearsal at our venue instead we had it at the hotel ballroom. We had so many people staying in the hotel that they didn't charge us. Is this an option for you? I thought it was necessary for our bridal party to know where to stand, take the bouquet, when to read the scripture etc. If you feel comfortable without one by all means do so, I'm anal so I wanted everyone on the same page. :)

I feel like rehearsals are important personally. Sometimes you don't think of details till you run through the wedding(like are the guys walking down with the girls or waiting at the end of the aisle, are they sitting or standing, how fast should they walk.) seems silly but sometimes little details need to be worked out. What if you just did a run down of what was going on somewhere other than your venue? Set up a mock aisle and just go through it plus it might help calm some nerves.

i would tend to agree with everyone else about a run through being important.  esp if you have special music, readings, or if you are having a religious ceremony and not everyone in the wedding party is from the same religon or denomination.  everyone needs to know how you plan to have them walk down the aisle and where to stand.  i think it would give you some peace of mind too to know that everyone knows what is going on.  everyone elses ideas about the location are right on.

We had to do our rehearsal two days before ours (on a fri night, since our wedding was on a sunday and there was a sat nght wedding there as well), and a lot of people out of town couldn't make it. We just went with whoever  could make it. The other people pretty much figured it out the day of (that's what a DOC helps with before the ceremony as well-making sure everybody is and knows where they need to be!) As long as people who are doing anything like readings know exactly when to come up and how, that is the most important IMO. Just have everything written down very clearly if you don't do a rehearsal :)

Oh, but I agree with the other ladies, if you want to have one, $500 for the venue for a few min seems a little steep!-maybe try the hotel or wherever else you can get the bridal party together. or the morning of the wedding would prob be best!

I agree as well with everyone else.  I think a run through is a must but agree that it doesn't necessarily have to be at the venue.  That price seems outrageous!
