Found the Heartbeat with Doppler :)

My Sister in law let me use her fetal Doppler & when she dropped it off the other night we couldnt find the heartbeat (I was just shy of 11wks), but last night me & my DH played around with, not expecting to hear it & then all of the sudden there it was!!170+bpm!!! It was sooo cool! I recorded it & sent it to our moms :) It was so awesome being able to listening for as long as I wanted (not like at the Ob office where they just let you listen for a second). I am so happy! I highly recommend borrowing/buying one!

it is often easier to find on thinner more muscular girls then on people like me who need U.S.I. for everything!

@haleighb - I know! I wasnt expecting to find it, nonetheless as soon as 11wks!! ***dusting this dirt of my shoulder***

@IdoAgain - I would love having an u/s for everything, haha!! When I was at the OB last week they couldnt find the heartbeat with the doppler & had to do an u/s, since my placenta apparently blocks the baby... Its located on the front I guess. I wouldnt be bummed if I had to have a u/s at every appt due to my placenta location :)

Mar you're pretty brave!  I'd always be afraid that we'd never find it and panic!

Haha Laurie, everytime I see the midwife and they have an issue finding the heartbeat right away, I always ask "is everything ok?" haha  They're usually like "yeah the little wild thing won't sit still."

How exciting! My midwife usually takes a minute to find mine so you must be pretty good at it :) I just found out at my anatomy scan last week that my placenta is also in the front which I guess can make it hard to find sometimes depending on the baby's position. Glad you got to borrow one, that must be fun!
