Getting Ordained

(well aside from the www reading these threads!!)  anyhoo - i wanted to share the site i found for getting ordained in case any of you would like your favorite uncle or best friend or anyone special to you to perform the ceremony:

D1rty-  Do you know if i wanted someone from VA (a VA resident) to marry us in California... is that possible? Even if they are not a CA resident??  Does that make sense?  Thanks!

YB21-->  from what i'm reading, it looks like any person of legal age can perform the ceremony in CA and it will be valid (once all the paperwork has been rec'd and recorded by the registrar of the county you are married in)

http://usmarriagelaws.com/search/united_states/california/index.shtml

so if your uncle, cousin, bestie, etc is a VA resident, as long as the signed and dated papers are sent in immediately after the cermeony - your'e good to go...

please if anyone has more accurate info - let us know!! i'm not the expert...

what would be even funnier - is as we're wearing them - look totally serious in the pics as we gaze out into eternity or look into each other's eyes with love and devotion! bahaha

ya know - i think we're gonna have more funny pics than serious romatic pics... he is the male version of my humor but plus 10million!

FI's grandpa is doing our ceremony, he did not get ordained.. we discovered we can make him a "commissioner of marriage" for the day :) look online.. i think we did it through the city or county website of where we are getting married.. its pretty cool.. we paid like $40 and filled out an application, then they send you a certificate in the mail haha.. fi's g-pa thought it was pretty sweet haha.. he was pumped, felt very important lol
