Going INSANE!

So things have changed since my last post about possibly eloping. My parents had a sit down with me and FI, we went over things, the budget, the guest list- blah blah blah. We're still going with the June 28th date and now I'm getting all freaked again.

DRESSES.

I had picked out a J. Crew dress I liked (short version of Sophia) and found a screamin' deal online for them. I went with a few of my BMs to J. Crew and tried on some similar tops they had in store to see what size I should order. The saleslady informed me that if I have any "booby" BM's that J. Crew dresses aren't too friendly. I do in fact have one BM who is a larger, curvy girl with- enormous ta tas. The 3 BMS who came with me & tried on the tops are all average sized (if anything they're small) and one of them seemed to be overflowing in the boob region. I seriously do not think my one boobie BM will be able to wear the dress.

I need solutions! I don't want my girls paying a lot for the dresses. I'm talking $75 max. They're all fresh out-of or still in college, and I don't have the money to buy 6 BM dresses. The other issue is proximity. One lives in So Cal (big boobie girl) and another lives in MN. I'm starting to feel desperate and lame. I know I'm just making a big deal out of a small dilemma, but I don't want my girls to be uncomfortable (one asked if she could wear a tank top under the dress since she was so cleavagey- that right there was my clue that the dress was a NO!)

I have the measurements for the out of town girls so ordering online doesn't scare me as long as I can see the dress on a few other girls to know how it fits first.

Does anyone have any suggestions? The color is black. Should be easy right?

HELP ME!!!!!!!

Why don't you make it easier on yourself and set a length and fabric and let them choose?

Well, I'd go with a company that is going to be everywhere for all the girls to try on, at least.

I got mine at Ann Taylor and they're having a SCREAMING bridesmaid sale right now, too.

If that fails, try what pinkgerbers was suggesting. That might be your alternative.

MAYBE: Since you have so many different BM why don't you get a line that you can alternate styles (Same color and Fabric) but they can find the cut that works best with them? Many lines have this option available!

I'm with you! I've just had a happy solution to my similar problem! I picked out Maggy London as the designer (available on Nordstrom's website), set the color, length, and fabric limits, had the girls they on dresses in their local stores, and voila! They happened to get the dresses on sale for $50- $90 so they were very happy about that too! So choose color, length, and fabric - e.g. tea length, lavender, silk chiffon - and then let them choose.

Seriously people will joke but David's Bridal has a huge selection of colors and all of their BM dresses come in all of their colors. So each girl can get whatever fits her and works for her body. MN? I spent a lot of my childhood in Minneapolis, I love that place! And they def have David's Bridal there. Also - Ann Taylor has a good selection or what about dresses from bloomingdales or nordstroms? Have you checked their websites? What about everyone getting different dresses but all in black? What about a variety of black JCrew dresses? And did you actually use the term, "tatas?" haha ;)

What color are you trying to do? I would choose the color and length of dress and let your BMs find their own.

I agree with Champ...I usually hate David's Bridal for brides, but recommend them for BM dresses, especially if BMs come in a range of sizes and also are all over the country.

As a "big booby" girl myself...I can say I avoid Halters like the plague and also spaghetti straps. Strapless is okay and I prefer crossover/wrap, Vee or Square necklines.

Another option would be Nordstrom's online...they have great choices too. Maggy London has several dresses that come in the same colors and a range of sizes and styles.

I was in a wedding last summer and we got our dresses off-the-rack at Burlington Coat Factory for $25 each! There were 4 of us ranging in size from a petite 8 through 18W, 5'2" to 6"0'! Luckily this design from Connected Apparell was flattering on all of us and we all LOVED the price tag!

WAIT! I just checked your bio...are you BMs going to wear black? If so DEFINITELY let them chose their own dresses. Some may even be able to shop in their own closets. And they can certainly find something affordable at Ross, Marshall's or the like. Even Target.com has a bridemaid line.

This one is currently on clearance for $9.99 and comes in size 2-18!

Isaac Mizrahi Strapless Dress

This one is $12.49 and comes in sizes 8-14:

Isaac Mizrahi Silk Chiffon Faux-wrap Dress

This one is $49 and super cute!

smilkova- Thank you for your Maggy London rec'- I actually found some great dresses online and on sale! I even found one in the "graphite" color that has eluded me! I've added it to the go-try-on list. My BM's have been SO great and SO patient with me (and my never ending emails- hehe) it's so nice having good girls around me! I have a list of 3 potential dresses and I think after the girls go and see what size they wear we'll be in good shape. Thanks again everyone for all the ideas =)
