Grocery store cake???

We have a small budget and we are not really cake lovers. Does anyone have a store brought cake, i know that costco, walmart and sams club sell wedding cake, and the prices dont see "crazy" We really dont want/can spend $3+ per slice for cake. Does any pw bride have grocery store cake? I know that you can "dress up" a simple cake too. Any pics of your caje will be appreciated

We had a grocery store RD cake and I LOVED it!  It we hadn't had our cake in our package I would have gone with Hannaford for our wedding cake- they are the best in town- I would  have gone with Price Chopper for my flowers if I had gone the real route!  So I am a grocery store fan all the way around!

We are having a fake cake made that will have a small section of real cake for feeding each other.  Plus, it will look awesome in pics.  The guests will be served sheet cake, not sure from where yet.  I think that it is tastier and definitely cheaper than buying a wedding cake.

We have Publix supermarket here, and they make delicious cakes. That's where we're planning to get ours, and probably the rest of the dessert bar, too. He's more of a cheesecake guy, so there will be a mix.

I had a Publix cake!! It was a fantastic decision for us. We ordered their coconut cream cheese cake and it amazing! I also order some plain cupcakes for our guests and that was a hit as well!

We have Hy-Vee where I'm from, I think it's similar. A lot of people use them for cake and seem to like it, but I don't think they are that much cheaper than somewhere else. If you are not big cake fans, why not cupcakes, cookies or even pie? Or just a candy bar? There is no set rule that you have to have cake!

I think that is a great idea! I had a wedding cake made but if I did not go that route I would have definitely purchased a cake from Kroger. I LOVE THEIR CAKES! This is a very cost effective way to get a cake!

we will bake the cake ourselves . we only had the icing and the sugar flower bought in the internet. it cost about 20 pounds. and the rest is homemade. but i think that grocery cakes can be just as nice. :-) maybe get a simple one and get some sugar flowers or a nice cake topper to boost it up

There are many alternatives to regular cake. A popular cheap option is a candy bar. Cheese cake, cakepops, or pie is also an option. I recently went to a wedding with an ice-cream Sunday bar. Let me just say that was a hit!

I agree with the others. If you don't like cake do something else, pies, cupcakes, candy, ice cream, cookies. Get a small cake to cut for pictures and do sheet cakes. I live in Northern CA and we have Safeway and Raleys and they both make good cakes and you can get like a small cake for around $10 and they have chocolate w/ ganache or other "fancy" flavors.

Our Harps grocery store makes good cakes and has done some beautiful ones. I agree with the others. don't spend money on a cake if you aren't cake lovers. There are so many other options. We are using a bakery just because they are the only ones who can do what we want for our cake
