Now on to the RECAP...
I headed to meet with the coordinator (allbyfaith) to pick up the cake, pick up a few refreshments and drop off a few items for the day of. On the way to BJS to pick up refreshments the baker called and said our monogramed cookie favors were broken and that we would have to pick them up in the morning. I almost died I didnt think any of that would be possible but, DOC to the rescue she said she owuld pick the up by 8a, (LOVE HER). We decided to just pick up the cupcake tray to decorate it. LOng story short DIY the night before dont work out as they do in your head. So no cupcake stand but again DOC to the rescue she said she would handle it. By the time I got to my aunts house I was pooped. But I still couldnt sleep, hubmidnight.by kept texting to see what I was doing ,where I was , and how was I feeling. Lol we thought I was going to be the psycho texter lol I guess he missed me. It was the first night in years we have been apart so I can understand.
Saturday 9/15/12 WEDDING DAY
I woke up 6am ready and anxious. I still couldnt eat so I woke the house up with my wedding playlist. (BRIDES:Dont forget to make a playlist to get you in the mood. Mines was love songs) There was a total of 14 ppl at my aunts house and 1 shower so you can imagine how that went. Not only that my boys didnt have any shoes and we didnt have a bouquet. But it was my day and I was getting married with barefoot ringbearers and no flowers lol. I finally went over my timeline and realized I was suppose to be in the shower by 9:30 it was 8:25 and I was freaking out. My mom had to relax me and say its ok we are never on time for anything so relax. She was sooo right but the Photog came on time with a few ppl dressed. A half way naked flowergirl running around with a diaper, 3 barefoot ringbeares playing cops and bandits with there ties and one bride nervous as ever. But today was my wedding and thats all that was important. We all finally got dressed and now we were waiting to head out for a 12:00p wedding at 11:30. For those who know NY on a saturday we werent getting there on time.
I called my DOC to see how things were and she reassured me things were perfect. We pulled up to Central Park to realize there was a parade going on and we couldnt get dropped off at the set location. But it didnt matter the sun was shining and it was my day. The police kindly let us all walk thru the parade to get to the other side. I felt like a queen. Everyone was pointing and taking pictures and saying Congrats. Right then I knew we made the best decision to get married at the park. How many brides can say that they walked thru a parade. As were walking through the park a little girl sayd to her mom "Look a princess" I wanted to cry that was the best compliment all day. As we get closer to the park Im getting nervous, my knees are weak (thanks for flats) my hands shaking butterflys are in a race in my tummy. I did the one thing that calms me down FACEBOOK. My fb was now a twitter with a play by play of me waiting. I waited at the top of the fountain for my step dad when he came I broke down. My dad wasnt there and I being a daddys girl felt that pain. He passed away before he met my prince. I heard the music and the veil went over my head it was time.
The ceremony was perfect we had laughs and jokes it was far from serious which we loved. His vows were perfect because I didnt think he would right anything lol. We are now HUSBAND and WIFE.
ADVICE TO FUTURE BRIDES
- Have a DOC or delegate it make a huge difference.
- Have a music playlist to keep you relaxed
- EAT It may be hard but drink something at least
- Think of a Plan B just incase you hit traffic
- Dont worrk about the mistakes enjoy it
- Dont care about Ettiquette. (Because we canceled the huge reception bc of money our family didnt care about paying for themselves to eat. The whole internet made me feel bad because it wasnt ettiquette and because of this I didnt invite family members I wish I would have. And now after the wedding they wished they would have came and didnt care about paying) so do what you want dont care about ettiquette.
Now to PICS. (These are all non pros from fb photog will be here soon hopefully)
