guys at the bridal shower?

Is it ok to have guys at the bridal shower or is it supposed to be an all-girl thing? Is the groom allowed to come to the shower?

If guys are there, it's called a "couple shower." But normally that doesn't mean groom and all women. It's usually co-ed with other guys.

If it's a traditional bridal shower, it's all women.

It's usually all women and I think the groom typically does not come. It's seems like the kind of thing guys usually try to avoid. ;)

Joe- the coed couple showers are a different from the women only bridal shower. So even if you went, you wouldn't get the same feel.

The groom is usually present at our family's bridal showers. I don't know why. And even though the invites are addressed to only the women, the men drive the women to the shower and stay. They hang out in the "men's corner." I haven't seen any difference between times when there are men or not.

My fiance was there as I opened up my bridal shower gifts. It was quite embarrassing to have my fiance sitting next to me as I opened up lingerie gifts while my mom was taking pictures and my dad was right in back of her. Talk about awkward!

Just an fyi, in almost all Indian weddings, bridal showers are strictly off-limits to men.

My friends had a wedding shower... sort of a pre-wedding party, similar to an engagement party, but only a week before the wedding. Both families were there, as well as close friends and the bridal party. I thought it was a great alternative to the cheesy traditional bridal shower and am using the same idea for my own plans!

In turn, the bachellorette party will probably end up being more like a traditional bridal shower, but more rowdy!!

I hosted a "WEDDING" shower when my sister got married. It was so much fun having guys and gals. In fact, not that it's my turn my sister is hosting a co-ed event for us too.
