Hair opinions needed! :)

Originally I had planned to do my hair all up and I've already had my hair trial with that style.  But now I'm thinking I might want it down a bit, in a low side pony tail.  Here is a picture of my dress:

Here is the up style that I was going for:

and here is the pony tail style I like:

They're pretty similar but I can't decide if I want all up or not.  What do you guys think??  My hair is about six or so inches below my shoulders and fairly fine.  would the pony tail not look great?  Thoughts?? :)

I really like the side pony.  I was thinking of doing that if I wasn't doing my extensions.

Can you do a convertible style like they show on The Knot?

Up for the ceremony:

Down for the reception (not braided):

Would you straighten the ponytail or curl it?  Coming from a person with fine hair...the curl tends to go out by the end of the night, especially if others are hugging you and crushing the curl.  I like both shots, but I'm partial to the first look.  It's still a "down do" but a little fancier.  IMHO

hmmm, that's an interesting idea kristeen.  although, my hair has a tendency to take shape very easily and if i tried to take it down after being up for several hours, it might be all kinked.  a bummer in that i can't really take naps during the day if i want to go out later! :)  bed head!  i love that up-do you posted though!  very retro-glam!

Question: how often do you wear your hair up? If you wear it up a lot and it's not out of the norm for you, I'd go for it. If not, leave it down!! I LOVE the side pony  :)

I think brides should look like a glammed up version of themself! If I wore my hair up it totally wouldn't be me.

ps. you can add some hair to a pony to make it fully and curl better. They aren't really extensions! I had them put in for a wedding I was it. They were bobby pinned in and it was fabulous! Real hair too!!

I never wear my hair up unless it's a weekend day and i don't feel like washing it, then i just throw it up in a clip. :)  i've worn my hair up for a few weddings i've been in and i've never totally loved how i look.  small head maybe??  ha!  but i'm worried that, like missQ said, the curls will fall out.  where did you get the hair for the ponytail??  that would be an idea...i don't think i really need the full clip in extensions...

We just got them at a beauty supply place where they sell to stylists. I'm sure yours would know where.  I got mine on 17th st in costa mesa, if you want I'll look to see if they are still there! It's right by my house. :)

I had received that side from a friend who lives in the Czeck Republic.

I would opt for the updo only because you say you have fine hair. You're in October so heat won't be too much of an issue. I know when I dance all night I usually break a sweat. I'd hate for my ponytail to get 'limp' by the end of the night.

Good luck!
