Halloween Wedding

Hey everyone, I'm new to the site. I'm recently engaged and we decided on October 31st of 2009 because Halloween is our favorite! Does anyone have any creative ideas for a Halloween wedding? I don't want to get too tacky or gothic!

My friend did there wedding around halloween and did a 'normal' wedding theme- so nothing halloween related.  They just added those tiny pupkins in places- like a few along the aisle runner with the petals/leaves, and some on the tables.  They also did the YUMMYIST candy apples for their favors.  It wasn't anything crazy- just a nice touch.  Their flowers were orange/ fall colors, and their staionary had the colors & bronze too...

Do you actually want 'Halloween' theme or just a fall theme- those are two totally different routes...

I'm getting married November 1, 2009

For colors. We chose, leafy greens, burnt oranges, brick reds with some accent yellows. Groomsmen in green, bridesmaids in oranges holding red flowers.

For food: We do not want a thanksgiving dinner, but squash, pomegranate, we're doing cold soups

Hope that helps!

I am leaning more towards a Halloween theme rather than just a fall theme. I for sure want some things that make people think HALLOWEEN! I'm pretty sure I am doing caramel apples for favors. I was also thinking of having kids wear their costumes, and giving them treat bags, since they wont get to go trick or treating that night...is that tacky or a good idea? I also live in MO and we want to do an outside ceremony but the weather makes me nervous around that time!

it's not tacky if thats what you want to do!!! there's a lot of creative things you could do w/ a halloween theme...

  • escort cards could be in the shapes of tombstones and set in trays of moss

  • candy bar

  • branch centerpieces w/ cobwebbs and spiders

Ashley, you're in a good position because if you wait until the DAY AFTER halloween, you can hit up a halloween store and get SUPER cheap stuff....and some ideas!

Thanks for the ideas...I'm not sure if I want to go as far as tombstones and spiders though, it doesnt really make me think wedding. Maybe I should just stick to things like pumpkins, leaves and candy. :)

I also really appreciate the links above...THANKS!
