Harry Potter

I went to Borders tonight around 10:15pm to see how things were. It was crazy, but not super crazy. Lots of kids running around in Hogwarts robes and balloons everywhere. I was very tempted to stick around, but decided not to. Maybe I'll try to go to Albertsons or Wal-Mart or some lower key place to try to pick it up tomorrow. But I'm really afraid someone's going to ruin the ending online, so I actually *temporarily* switched my home page from MSN to gmail, lol.

I haven't read any of the books... if I buy the box set now, how long will it take me to read all 7 books? =)

Beware there are so many people out there trying to purposely spoil the book. I followed Margarets SYTYCD YouTube post and people were posting comments about all the big things that happen.

So sad. If I were a die hard fan I would be pissed!

I did the same thing as you Kristen! MSN wouldn't give away the ending, but I didn't want to know ANYTHING about it. I'm only now back on the internet because I finished it!

If you don't want to deal with the stores, you can buy it off amazon.com for free shipping, or 2 day shipping with extra charge.

Evonne - The first three books are relatively short and fast reading. The last four range from 700-900+ pages. I read the first 3 in about 3 days, but I also was on summer break in college and didn't shower!

Ann - Wow, one book a day? That was fast! I saw the box set on Amazon.com and noticed the first couple books are much thinner than the last few! Oh boy, even though I have seen every single HP movie, I do have a lot of reading to catch up on! =)

costco has a ton of the books. they were selling it for $18-something. i ended up going to borders on saturday to pick it up for 40% off cover ($20.99 plus tax).

i haven't had a chance to read it yet, so i'm trying to avoid most sites online. heehee...i even brought it to work with me, so i can start reading it during lunch. =)

So Saturday morning, my BF (I feel weird saying that on a wedding site) went to the grocery store around 8am and got the book! No lines or crowds to deal with =). I'm not the fastest reader, so last night from about 5pm-5:45am I read the entire thing! I just couldn't put it down!

Evonne - I would imagine it looks intimidating in boxed set form, but now you'll learn what the movies glossed over!

I live in SF so there aren't too many kids running around borders in wizard robes.

Just adults running around in wizard robes... :)

I'm about 1/3 of the way through and it's been pretty slow so far. I hear the ending picks up though.

I liked the last Harry Potter book (the second half that is). You must read it for yourself if you want to find out what happens.

i finished the newest one yesterday. this series is one where time always flies when you're reading. the author has such a great imagination and descriptive way of writing. i'm sad there won't be any more harry potter books.
