Help in Finding Dream Dress

Hello,

I need some serious help. I found my dream dress, Allure 8874, the Kate Middleton dress, and was all set to purchase but had to change my wedding date due to deaths in my family. We waited a year to reschedule wedding and now the dress is discontinued. I am heartbroken and have looked endlessly for another dress, but none will suffice, as this was "THE DRESS."

Is there anyone who can help me find it, sample or used size 10, 12, or 14?  I am thinking of having it made, but I don't even know how to go about finding someone to do it. I've tried to look for the Allure 8874 dress pattern on line, but can't find it.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

Michelle,

Have you thought about having it made? if you look under the groups tab you will see a dressilyme group and lots of brides that have had a dress made by this company.

Dear Zeuster,

I've thought about it, but I wouldn't even know where to start to go about finding someone reputable. I

can't even find the dress pattern. You are talking to someone who can't even sew a hole in a sock! LOL. Don't I have to have a pattern to give to them? Know the material? etc...?

Thank you so much for replying!!!!

Dear Kanooknic,

Thank you so much for the sites. I will check them out. I looked at your board....beautiful pictures. The little boys are adorable. Pictures on the water are just lovely!

@mlbeish

you just need tosend a picture of your dress and they will tell you if they can make it or not. A lot of brides on here choose them because of the price. and if you check out the group you can see actual dresses they have made.

have you looked at the used wedding dress sites?

weddingbee classifieds

bravo bride

once wed

craigslist

tradesey

ebay        there are tons more........but thats a start

heres a replica site

http://www.newyorkdress.com/Allure/8874AL.html

I think another idea would be to find a strapless ballgown you like and have someone  make you a lace jacket like the one that goes with the dress.. check out etsy.com

The ladies have given great advice! I couldn't find any pre owned with a quick google search, but a replica site might be perfect for you! If I can search more deeply in a but I'll come back and post...good luck!

All of you are so wonderful with your suggestions!

Any suggestions on where I can get the dress pattern to have someone make it?

My fiance is Indian and is thinking of sending the pattern (if we can find it) to India to have it made. We might be traveling to India in a few weeks for me to meet his family and have a Lahenga Choli (traditional Indian wedding dress) made.
