help me pick BM dresses..

My BM's are not overly opinionated when it comes to the BM dresses and I'm having a really hard time picking anything except for the color. The dresses will be a shade of green (sage or kiwi most likely).

What do you girls think would look nice for a spring, late afternoon/evening wedding?

I like the idea of the long dress as it is a bit more formal and I think it would be easier shoe-wise as it'll be difficult for them to get completely matching shoes (which in my opinion doesn't matter as much with longer dresses). However, 2 out of 3 of the girls seem keen on shorter dresses.

I like the last dress the best, although they're all beautiful. I think the cut and length make it seem formal, but still fun. What do you mean by completely matching shoes - shoes dyed to match the green of the dress or shoes that all match each other? With the black sash on the dresses, it seems the girls could all wear black shoes, and I think it looks nice when you allow the bridesmaids to accessorize the dresses themselves, within guidelines. Give them a color and any other specificis for the shoes and let them pick their own. With matching dresses, it always looks nice to see the girls' personalities come out a little. HTH

That's a good point about the black bow and then having them wear black shoes. I was thinking shoes that matched each other (like all black) rather than matching the exact color of the dresses. That said, I'd be happy if the shoes were even just all the same color as one another (like black).

I like the 3rd one but in tea length. I love most Jim Helm's sophisticated style.  I like the tea length because it is not too short but will make YOUR dress stand out (assuming yours is floor length). or vice versa, if your dress is short than BM dresses should be floor length. And I agree with erindira regarding the shoes... different styles of shoes.

Good morning Date Twin! :)  I like 3 and 4...and i think if they wear the black sashes, you could let them get any black evening/dressy shoe they like....i think that would also make a super cute picture....kind of a close up from the hem of the dress down to the shoes.

I was totally leaning towards 3 or 4 after the feedback and then two of the girls emailed today to say they liked the long one. I think for the reason that cryflore mentioned - tea length doesn't work for everyone and one of the girls very rarely wears anything short at all.

I think I may get them to go try on 1, 3 and 4. and maybe another long Jim Hjelm. Thanks everyone!
