help me plan a $100 budget party

My litle boy is turning 4. I will like to make for him a small party. The budget is $100 or less.

Venue $0 daycare

Theme: Bugs/insects, or cat in the hat

Any ideas, pics, diy that I can make. The party is for about 10 kids and 4 adults. I was thinking of making some cupcakes, but I am not a good baker at all.

Do you have a Dollar Store in your area?  Plates, forks, cups, napkins, tablecloth, giftbags, and even plastic bugs to decorate the table with.  This time of year they may even have "find the bug" kits that you can get for the kids to play with.  Cupcakes are easy, or you can get them from the grocery store bakery.  Fairly inexpensive, good tasting, and you may even find one that will make you a "jumbo" cupcake for the birthday boy.

Maybe you can purchase the cupcakes from your supermarket?

You can do a lot with either theme!

Bugs/insects:

You can have the kids make "dirt" dessert complete with gummy worms!

have an insect pinata

Play "Find the insect" (hide a certain plastic insect (tell the kids which one) and the first one to find it wins a prize

Cat in the Hat:

Play "Pin the Hat on the Cat" (like pin the tail on the donkey)

Have the kids make red and white striped paper Cat in the Hat hats to wear

Read Cat in the Hat to the kids for story time

Buy or make Thing 1 and Thing 2 red velvet (or another flavor if you think the kids may not like this) cupcakes

My Daughter had an insect Birthday last year, we sent out invites with big wiggly eyes. Really Cute! For the party we did cup cakes and put bugs on top. We also played a game similar to an eater egg hunt, but with these huge plastic bugs we found at the dollar store. All in all it was a hit. And pretty inexpensive

Hot potato is always fun or musical chairs. i still love that game

You can buy Bug catcher sets at the dollar store in most areas or look online. They make a great party favor and invloves zero sugar

Along the lines of healthy and a fun activity mini Pocket pizzas or English Muffin Pizzas

I hope you post pics after the party!
