Help: Stingy guests, Should I worry?

FI and I were discussing various wedding details and got on the topic of the Favors. As mentioned before, we're seriously considering doing the lotto scratchers. On a recent thread regarding favors, ChampagneCholly suggested to another PW bride to hang the lotto tickets in their envelopes from manzanita branches. I loved the idea!!! Since some of our centerpieces are manzanita crystal trees, I thought it was a great way to extend the theme. Plus, all the play on words with money growing on trees...lol! FI likes the idea, but was quick to worry me. He said that it wouldn't surprise him in the least that some guests (including some of his family) would grab more than ONE favor, scratching numerous scratchers until they found a winner. This got me thinking. Its sad to say, I agree, some people attending may do it partly to by funny, but also because they clearly don't have a sense of respect and maturity. I can't X them off the invite list because several of them are FI's family (Aunts, Uncles, etc). Should I place one favor at each plate setting as originally planned? FI thinks we should designate someone to hand one favor to each guest.

What do you ladies think? Should I be worried about guests' potential (and probable) misbehavior?

hmmm I don't know??? I think it can go both ways, some people will care less about them and some people might do more then one. You may want to put a few extras just in case? For the most part people should "know" but nothing surprises me! If you REALLY like the idea- don't let it stop you from doing it- its not worth the worry IMO

Can you use the lotto tickets as escort card as well: that is hang the escort card together with the ticket so that each guest takes only his or her escort card/lotto ticket. This way it's also clear that there's one ticket per guest.

That is a really really good idea smilkova, and maybe use opaque envelopes so they are less tempted...

I agree with Smilkova...use them as escort cards, that way each guest gets an envelope with their NAME on it and each gets one scratcher inside.

Yes...that's a great idea Smilkova! I'll have to think it over. I've been planning and WORKING on cork place card and table number holders. Somehow I'll see if I can incorporate all these fabulous ideas without overkilling it.

You ladies are amazing!
Thank you!
