HELP!!! Wedding Invitation Wording.

I'm struggling with what we want to say... what non-traditional wording did you use?

So far I have:

In celebration of love

BRIDE NAME

and

GROOM NAME

invite you to share in our joy as we exchange wedding vows.

DATE

VENUE

Dinner and Dancing to Follow.

That sounds pretty good!  Overall, I don't think people pay much attention to the wording (maybe family, grandparents, other wedding enthusiasts).

Etiquette-wise, sometimes it's important to include "Together with their parents".  We paid for our own wedding almost entirely (my in-laws bought the booze, and my mom paid for a large portion of my dress), so the typical parent lines weren't appropriate.  But "Together..." was the first line on our full invitation.

And still for some brides, parents aren't even involved so if they're not, your wording is fine just the way it is.

If you have inserts in the invitation, that also can include website info, which really covers most of the pertinent info about the wedding.  Also make sure to include TIME, which sometimes we forget but is one of the most important things on the invite!!  (That's usually the only reason I'll fully read an invitation a second time, and not just look at it and admire it's beauty.)

I agree with Timily about adding "Together with their parents" even if they're not financially contributing. They did/will help in other ways right :)

I asked FI about adding "together with our parents" a few times and he's not budging. I got a big NO. Oh well, hopefully his parents won't mind because my mom would ruin our wedding if she could without my dad disowning her.
