Im looking at Expedia and Travelocity and their prices still seem a little high- Anyone finding reasonable rates online?
I've been looking too and I'm not finding anything reasonable these days. Airfare has gone WAY up in recent months...
Yup, darn gas prices have increased the prices of airfare. Are you travelling domestic or international? I've always found that kayak.com had good domestic prices.
i use either kayak or sidestep. good luck!
edit: i travel a lot (its an addiction i'm not too proud of. lol) but i always check out sidestep first. then based on the lowest fare on there, i go directly to that website and search again. sometimes its even cheaper! tip, be flexible with your days at least one or two days. traveling on a tuesday or wednesday is always cheapest and red eyes are always cheapest. good luck!
Yeah, airfares have gone up considerably because of the rise in fuel costs. It's scary, especially since I have family working in the industy.
Also try Orbitz.com and CheapTickets.com. I thought I saw a $100 off coupon for Orbitz last week...
Travelzoo and Travelocity have some good last-minute deals.
I second SideStep - it's the best travel search engine I've experienced (Kayak's owned by the same company as well).
I love cheaptickets.com haha
My sister loves www.travelzoo.com
- HMM :)
ORBITZ!! I went to London to see my sister for two weeks in the summer for only $600! I am a student so I can get really cheap flights through my University, but Orbitz has about the same prices as that most of the time! You just have to search for a good deal.
Sorry to be a bummer, but I don't think there is any such thing as cheap airfare! We are flying to Iowa for Thanksgiving and to have an Iowa reception and the cheapest we found was $350 each. Ouch
I feel you Rach...we're flying to Charlotte to visit FI's family around x-mas and flights are over $500 each!!
I travel A LOT. There is a trick to travelocity and let me see if I can explain it correctly... keep in mind it only works if your days are flexible...
On the main page you have a couple options 1) just click on flexible dates and it will show you all the specials for that flight or 2) click on +/- 1 - 3 days for travel dates.
After I get a deal on travelocity, I go to that specific airlines and book it (it's always $5 cheaper b/c you don't have to pay the travelocity fee).
My tickets are costing me $618 for oct27th till dec 11th. Now thats alot of money. I hate not being in the lower states as we call them "The lower 48" in alaska
I like to you www.itasoftware.com and use their month-long search if you have flexibility in your travel dates.
