Holy Morning Sickness Batman!

We went to see my mom and gramma in Az this weekend. The trip has been planned for months. We had not told anyone about the pregnancy yet and had not planned to until the end of the first trimester.

Yeah, at 5 weeks and 6 days all hell broke loose in my tummy. The day we got there, I spent most of the day lying down with a "migraine" and ended up getting so sick and dehydrated dry heaving in the bathroom that my mom asked my DH to call my doctor. He called my OB and got a script for Zofran called in to the local Walgreens. My mom thought he was getting migraine meds and told him to pick up a pregnancy test! She said she could tell by the way I was throwing up! My gramma also suspected I was pregnant and asked my mom if we should just go to the hospital because I was "just like Kate Middleton". Lol!

After I finally got to bed sipping on Gingerale and Pedialyte, DH and I agreed that we would just have to tell them or they would hover all weekend. The next morning my mom was all concerned but I wanted to wait for my gramma to be up. When my gramma came to the kitchen she looked sooooooo worried. As soon as I told them I was 6 weeks pregnant they both stopped worrying lol. DH called his mom and told her, too - we couldn't NOT tell her when my mom knew. We swore them all to secrecy, which will be easy because my cousin is gravely ill and we don't want to overshadow her situation while she is so touch and go.

Since then, I have used the Zofran twice. I seem to get sick around 7 or 8 PM.......the thing I'm most worried about is that my mom was sick with me almost until the day I was born.....how she did it without drugs, I will never know!

Oh goodness I hope you don't have to go through the whole pregnancy with M/S like your mom! I had it the whole first trimester and THAT seemed like too much! And it's a bummer you had to tell your family before you planned to but exciting at the same time! It's so nice to have people in your life to share that with :)

Oh no, I hope it goes away for you and doesn't linger.

That darn M/S really gives you always, huh? I remember being at work and totally losing it. I work in a house an I'm pretty sure everyone figured me out even though I didn't say anything.

Zofran will be your best friend! I had to take it my whole pregnancy and am SO thankful for it! I couldn't imagine being sick the whole time with nothing to help!

So happy that you didnt wait to get on Zofran! I hear an awful lot of ladies go through hell and back with m/s. Luckily i never got too sick to have to be on Z, but I know you will feel heaps better now!

Aww, I know how you feel...my morning sickness comes and goes, sometimes I can go a few days without vomiting and others I will get sick twice in one day. I am just dealing with it at the moment until I see my doctor Wednesday, then I will be asking for Zofran if she feels it is necessary, otherwise I will just take vitamin B6. Hope you feel better! Mine started right at 5w/5d.

I have been taking B6 since I got my BFP - with my dr's approval of course. It doesn't seem to be helping at all =/. If I wasn't hypoglycemic I probably wouldn't have worried about the Zofran too much, but it seems like its going to be necessary for me =(

I hope the m/s goes away soon...it would stink to have to deal with it through most (if not all) of your pregnancy.

I'm sorry to hear the M/S monster got you, Claire. Really hoping it doesn't last long for you. And I know that probably wasn't how you intended to tell your family, but it's nice that they can share everything with you now. It really makes everything so much more exciting and fun once your family/friends know :-)
