Hotel Booking

Good afternoon ladies, I have a question in regards to booking a block of rooms for my out of state guests. I have a few hotels in the area I'm interested but I have no idea how to word it when I call. Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Erika

When you call just say you want to get info on blocking rooms...most of the time you will have to talk to the manager if its over 10 rooms, or a sales person...its super easy! Just know how many rooms you want and the hotel, and you shouldn't have to pay a deposit unless you really really want that hotel!

easy peasy - first - dont stress out over it! breathe.. ok now dial the hotel's #and ask for the sales department

ask the person in the sales department what the discount rate is for a block of rooms? dont forget to ask them what your liability is if not all the rooms get reserved etc.. some places dont require you to pay or they just give you a deadline of when the rooms should be booked by your guests, otherwise, the rooms go back into the "pool" for open reservations to other hotel guests.

ditto cryflore. Be sure you are not going to be required to pay for the rooms should they not get booked by your guests. Most places have a "release date" meaning, any rooms in your block that have not been rented, say 2 weeks before the wedding, will be released to be booked by other people.

I suggested that you get blocks at atleast 2 different hotels in different price ranges. good luck!

Thanks a ton, I  kinda figured I had the right idea but just wanted to double check. FYI, I've given that chore to my FI since he whined about me not giving him anything to do with the planning.

good work delegating...my FI was in charge of hotel rooms and the DJ and the officiant (since it's a family friend of his/his parents)

LOL,  his two major chores are the easy ones. He's chosing his suits/tuxes and taking care of the hotel rooms. I took everything else but then again, I've been planning for the past year so haven't stressed out yet (knocking on my fake wood right now).
