How's your planning coming along? What have you accomplished so far? Anything giving you trouble?
Doing well...still have NOT gotten bridal party attire yet and am starting to FREAK!
I am finally making progress!
I had my big wedding extravagnaza the last couple days- and I met with and contracted with most of my big vendors- so I finally have a florist, photog, etc.
The big thing that i need to take care of ASAP is the priest and getting permission from my home parish, etc. I need to do this IMMEDIATELY!!!
coming fast isnt it..
i've done all of the big stuff..
but haven't finished the STD's yet.. opps..
no stds yet for me either- yikes! They are ordered and I am working on addresses though...
This is my first Project Wedding post... Yay for January 2010 Brides!!!! When is everybody's date? What colors are you all going with? My date is Jan 2 and we are going with a peacock theme.
I am a Jan 2 bride as well...I am ding the red black and damask thing. I am very happy with where I am at right now. Everything done so far and just waiting to work on some of the details.
jan 30!!! we are doing lots of winter white/cream/ivory, charcoal, teal and little bit of red.
We sent the Save TDs out a while back, have confirmed our photographer and church.
We still have to confirm our DJ, but he's a friend, so there's no panick there. We have already paid a deposit for a reception site, but are thinking of changing it.
I'll be ordering my invitation supplies next month to send them out in October and get back RSVPs by early November. However, still have to do a test print on the sample I have.
Still need to find a place to buy manzanita branches, and someone to create my peony bouquet.. for my January wedding.. gasp! I'm looking at about $200+ for that alone.
Lots of DIY things to do (see my profile), and we have yet to find the attire for Mr. Cupcake and his boys. Not to mention, find our ring bearer and a top for our flower girl. I found her the cutest skirt at gymboree on sale for $12, now I just need to find her a white top and mary janes.
I feel like there is a lot of time left, but there really isn't! Ahh! My dress comes in November, so the last thing I must do? Lose some damn weight!!
Everythings coming suprisingly well. I've given myself a November 20th deadline to get everything I possibly can taken care of so I can enjoy the holidays.
Finally ordered my save the dates- they should be here any day now!!
i am also a january 2nd bride. i have only been planning for a month because my husband is in the military! the 2nd is the only date we could get! wow it sucks, im doing my best, everything is coming together nicely but i spend every waking second working on something because i have no time to lose.
this is what i have done:
my dress, bridemaids dresses, fitting for the groom, bride accessories, table decorations, chair covers and sashes, reception and ceremony location, consoltation for flowers and cake are next week, catering is almost done, website will be done next week, wedding list is done, gift registry, schedule for the day is half finished, ordering invitations next week.
WE DONT EVEN HAVE TIME TO PLAN THE HONEYMOON! that will have to wait for another day :(
just figured out my candy buffet, going to purchase the rest of the jars tomorrow.
going to do the tags for my love tree tomorrow =)
ordered the GM & BM's gifts tonigh
ordered the RSVP tracking pen i'm going to use. it's inkless and only shows up with the light that comes with the pen. here is the blog post i read that inspired me to buy this pen! it was only $1.33 including shipping, so i bought two! in the blog she describes exactly the reason behind it =)
after i do the love tree tags?? i'm on to the card box and/or favors!
MissCupcake- are you making a card box or buying one? I am so up in the air on that... actually thinking of borrowing my best friends from her wedding this year. We are on such a tight budget that spending even $25 on a card box is hard for me to swallow.
I love everybody's color choices!! How fun!
I'm Jan 2, too! It's a popular day. I am trying to finalize my guest list so I can order my invites. I'm planning on getting that done this weekend. I also have calling our pianist on my list for this week and calling my harpist contacts to see if one is available.
I plan to make a trip to WI in Oct to have my first dress fitting, meet with my reception venue about the menu, create a venue layout, meet with the linen co, meet with the priest and pastor, do a run through w/the hairstylist, order our cupcakes
I'll be down again at Thanksgiving to do my second fitting and whatever else needs to be done.
My FI needs to decide on his attire. We also need to decide on and ask our ushers and other folks- readers, etc.
I think I finally found my wedding band and I'm hoping that we can take care of our rings in early October.
I'm trying not to get too stressed, but it is coming up fast and I'm crazy busy at work. My mom and sister have been super helpful and really like doing fun DYI projects. They are fully prepared to make my invites if my original plan falls through!
Hi--I am a 1-9-10 bride. This week my frustrations are with the church, so I am trying to weasel my way in before they said I could be in the church.
Vent: It just doesn't make sense to have 14 people driving around Minneapolis/St. Paul two hours before the wedding when there are over 30 rooms in the church that will be empty that day where we could get our hair done! Sorry about that! Had to tell someone who would understand!
Planning is going great, we are finally registered at one place and invites are getting assembled! I have my best friends wedding (I am MOH) on 10-3 so I have been helping her with that stuff as of late, not to mention the showers and bach. parties!
No worries though, I have had plenty of time in the last couple months to hammer out some details and vendor clarifications. I had enough time at the get-go of our engagement that things were off to a fast start compared to most, I am not going to lie though, still stressing out a little bit. Have been having nightmares about the backdrop possibilities and day-of transportation. :-/
yay! January 16th is our date. We have a lot of the big things done but not all the little details. Our colors are similar sugarjo in that we are using champagne, ivory, brown, and hints of teal.
@katievits right now, I want to make it, but we'll see how much I want to make it as we get closer to the date
@flakeofsnow hello date twin!!
January 30th is our date. I am excited but so scared. I haven't even found my dress yet and i'm freaking out about it!! I know my colors and that's all that's been done. My colors are white, black, and red. If any of you know of an affordable white wedding gown with black accents that isn't boring in the front and costs under $700 please let me know. :) lol
I've put the Love Tree tags aside for now. They just need ties on them, which I can do when all the big things are finished.
I'm finishing up the formating of my invitation inserts, and am probably going to finish that tonight. I'll also do a test print, cut out, and see if I want the corners of them rounded or not. We're finalizing the guestlist tomorrow, and then we'll order everything for the invitations. Invitations for the OOT guests will be sent out at the begining of November, and everyone else will have their invites sent out in December.
We'll aslo be ordering our Manzanita Branches next week. Ahhh! The snowball is starting...!
January 9th. I have a photographer, a preacher, all the dresses are being made and i've got most of the reception decor projects out of the way. We've got the rings. Designed the invitations, got the favor boxes. Still a long way to go but we're getting there. My colors are baby blue and black with silver accents. We too like the damask design, seems to be pretty popular lately. Oh and i have picked out the flowers. Got the jewelry. Lot's of little details, we have to book the place but we can't until October 5 for some lame-o reason that they gave us.
