How much do you typically tip?

I cannot believe the wedding is this weekend! EEEEE! Anyways, I'm trying to get all of my last minute stuff and want to run to the bank to get out tip money.

Who did you tip and how much?? TIA!

15-20 percent is common, but I was told that you only tip people doing a specific service that day, like the limo driver or the DJ...everyone else such as the caterer and photographer, etc is already being paid for the service. But for the driver, for example, you are paying ahead of time to rent the car and the tip is appreciation for the driver that day. HTH!!

Eeeek I can't believe it either, eagerly awaiting your sign-off!

I'm no help. I'm having a mojor brain fart on what I tipped. I know that I tipped my MUA and hairstylists extrememly well because they gave me a GREAT deal and did excellent work. I agree with Kim and SDonisi, 15-20% feels like the norm.

I would say 15-20% as well. But liek mentioned before depending on service. I gave a bit extra for those that I saw goign above and beyond for me. Also check contracts etc to see where gratuities are already included in the pricing  - most halls do this for wait staff etc and guests tend to tip bar staff as they go up for drinks.

Double the tax plus a little extra. That's what I always do.

OMG, ditto what Lorna said, YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED THIS WEEKEND!!!  Here is what I found regarding tipping.

Check Your Contracts

“Many gratuities are built into the price quotes for major items like catering?typically 15 to 20 percent?or smaller things like limos,” says Alan Fields, coauthor of Bridal Bargains. Read carefully to avoid unnecessarily double-tipping. “If the gratuity is not included in the contract, you might consider adding it in the contract so you don’t have to deal with it on the day,” suggests Anna Post, author of Do I Have to Wear White? Emily Post Answers America’s Top Wedding Questions.

Yes it is typically 15% to 20% but some of the charges are incurred anyway with the service. I tipped the bartendar because he was awesome and deserved it as well as my friend who organized my wedding reception when my wedding coordinator bailed on me at the last minute. I tipped the guitarist as well at my ceremony. He was phenomenal!
