How much is too much?

FH and I are getting married during the fall season, and I love any and all colors of the season. I'm sticking with three main colors--olive green, red, and black. However, I want to have as many accent colors as possible without it becoming too "busy." I want oranges, yellows, and some cool colors to accent in small ways. My first question is--when does it become overbearing color-wise, and also, what cool color(s) would you recommend to accent all of these warm colors?

i have seen several wedding done by pros that had a large selection of colors in the centerpieces.  one such one was Platinum Weddings season 3 episode 6 where David Tutera plans a wedding for Eda and Dave.  these may be available to purchase by episode.  i know BIO network on tv has Platium Weddings on sometimes.

here are some online pics for color inspiration and to show that tons of colors in centerpieces can look great.

this one has red, orange green, pink, and yellow and it looks fab.

i dont know how much black you want in your wedding, but olive green, red (medium to darker tones), orange, yellow, brown, and purple look so great together esp in a fall wedding.

if you are having all  those colors, then i recommend having a neutral colored linen.  olive green, antique gold, beige, chocolate brown...that way the linens dont compete with the bright centerpieces.

i really do recommend looking at that episode from Platium Weddings.  it should really help you out inspiration wise with colors etc.  there are actually several episodes i love.  if you are interested in a list from me of the ones i love just ask.

one other thing i thought about is that if you are searching for inspiration online, dont just look at "fall"  also look for "indian."  indian weddings are always very colorful.  red is a key color for indian weddings and white isnt use a lot cause white is used for funerals in their culture.

Krosa kind of covered all your bases, but I thought I would chime in with my thoughts. I think that it would be hard to have too much color, as long as you have solids and accents. Patterns can get a little too busy, but colors are never too much. That's my opinion anyway!

Thanks, ladies! I talked FH out of his class A's and into his Mess Uniform with a little help from my mom/MOH, whom he adores (thanks, Mom!). We are having to buy him a new uniform, but I'm okay with that. It's just as much his day as it is mine, and I want him to look and feel handsome. Because he decided to revert to the Mess Uniform, I get to go back to my black/red/silver/white scheme. Yay!

my wedding was black, red, and white.  i had small accents in a couple places that were silver and purple.  but i am pretty sure all that is explained on my profile.  my pinterst has some good stuff with those colors.

I think you could as many as you wanted, as long as you matched it well and it didn't take away from you colour theme, if the colours are big deal for you.
