Hello June brides!
How's planning coming along so far? What big things have you alread knocked off your to-do list?
I'm in the pre-planning stage. Waiting on my ring, but we're going ahead and starting planning while he saves up for the ring I picked out. So far, all I've got out of the way is my dress. I found a dress on here that a PW was selling and ordered it from her, and I love it!
We haven't decided yet if we're going to go to the mountains for a little chapel wedding with our immediate families or if we're going to have a wedding locally so a few more people can come. Either way we're going to do a casual/rustic picnic/bbq type reception locally for friends and family to come to.
We're going to DIY most of the food and order a few things that aren't worth the hassle to make ourselves. So far I'm planning on either ribs or bbq pork and fried chicken with a few good side dishes.
I also want to do a cookie buffet as our favors. I've seen some of those on here and think they're so adorable!
Hi Laura, I love the cookie buffet!!! I have lots of pics if you need some inspiration I can post for you. I wanted to do that originally and have since moved on to canning my homemade salsa, although I think we may do a smaller candy buffet for the kids.
I have my dress already, picked it up 2 weeks ago, shoes too, ordered flowers although when we got the estimate we were a little sticker shocked so we'll see... I also have the DJ and photographer booked as well as our venues, catering included. Next on the list is the cake, the hotels for OOT, limo, tuxes, and lots of DIY projects coming soon!!
Look forward to planning more with you girls along the way!!! 10 months to go!!
Hey all! You guys are making me feel like I'm behind in the game...
So far I've got my Venue and DJ booked. I'm working on finding a photographer and caterer. I've bought my dress, and I've finished numerous DIY projects including a "thank you" parasol, aisle runner, and 16 pomanders. I'm working on designing my STD's right now as well. Lots more to do, but it's slowly coming together! Time seems to be going by so fast and I'm wondering if even 10 months is enough time to pull things together!
I agree with April, I look forward to planning with everyone over the next 10 months!
I love these groups- I can't wait to hear all about your upcoming weddings as plans get finalized!
So far, we've booked the ceremony site, reception site, Officiant, caterer, DJ, photographer, and videographer. I haven't found the dress yet, although I've been looking! I'm hoping to have that done in the next couple of weeks. Also next up on the list; tuxes, begin thinking about invites, begin DIY centerpieces, and research/book honeymoon. I feel like I'm out of town every weekend, but excues aside, I need to stop slackin' and get to work!
On the bright side, FI and I are getting engagement pics the last week in August- keep an eye out for those! :) Happy planning everyone!
Hello Ladies, I am new to project wedding, just wanted to say hi!!
Well so far I have solitified my venue, flowers, dj, hair and makeup artists, wedding dress, bm dresses, gm tuxedos,...and more I am so excited but now I am trying to focus on wedding invitations but going through a lot of anxiety worrying if I will forget anyone...anyone else dealing with that???
I'm so bummed.............I wrote a long post and for some reason it didn't "post", then I realized I wasn't a group member : ( boooo!
Ok so let me try that again!
Hi to all the June brides!!
I'm looking forward to planning with everyone............such an exciting time!!
So far I have my dress (still needs alterations), our wedding bands, the venue for the ceremony and reception (same place - which comes with catering!), photographer booked, DJ booked, hotel for OOT guests secured, STDs arrived (will mail them out in a few months), chair covers and sashes ordered, bridesmaid dresses picked out, and I have a consultation with hair and makeup artist next week!
Next will be cake, flowers, shuttle for getting guests to/from venue/hotel, and invitations.
We haven't decided on whether or not we'll be getting a videographer yet, depends on the budget!
Apple, I wonder the same thing, about whether or not we have enough time to pull it all together, then I remind myself that people plan weddings in less time!! We'll be fine...repeat, repeat!! : )
Happy Planning.............looking forward to seeing everyone's progress!!
Welcome to PW Sweetpea! I'm glad you found us! Hopefully you can find as many helpful things/ideas on here as I have!
AHHH! I don't have ANYTHING booked! Or even picked out really.. I'm still waiting on a guest list from the grooms side!! until then I'm stumped! really.. how long does it take to make a guest list? I asked for it like a month ago! haha
I really have my eyes set on this one place in KY. My family hates the idea because they'll have to drive 2 hours to get there. WOOP D DOO lol. Even if I have it close to home they'll still have to drive 2 hrs! That's what I don't understand. I was going to half the price with my dad, and I think that's the problem. He was wanting to have it in a church that my aunt goes to so it would be free!! I ABSOLUTLY DO NOT want it in a church! So I'm guessin I'm just going to have to pay for all of it myself. I mean.. how many times am I going to get married?! Hopefully once! I should get to have what i want on my day. Well, and my fiance'es day! Who wants to have it in the same place I do!! It's not outragous or nothing. I'm a BIG tight wad! haha. But my dad is an even bigger one!
Srry so long.
here's a link to the place we want to get married at.
hey girls :) june 12th bride here!
so far i have: reception venue, ceremony venue, pre-cana scheduled (im catholic!), photographer, invite material ordered and here, honeymoon booked, and a pretty much finalized guest list.
in the works: e pics in two days (yah!!!), cake tasting this saturday, after thinking i found a dress, i cancelled and am inquiring milly bridal about having a custom one made. met with a videog, have a florist lined up (but not appointment yet or anything) and am on the hunt for a hair and make up artist. next up: STDs as soon as we get our epics back!!
Lovely to meet you all! I'm trying to plan out a half DIY half Forsyte inspired wedding. I've been engaged for two years going on three so I've had a lot of time to slowly adjust to the planning for the big day. I don't know how one of my girlfriends managed to plan in 4 months. That being said, I'd advise to *set the budget* first. It's made me more realistic of what I consider really important.
our wedding is june 12. looking forward to the big planning. got engaged on valentine's day this year. 4 months after, my MOH/Twin's husband was killed so planning is not at the forefront in our lives. i've booked vendors because of the importance of securing them in advance but don't plan to do much more until January. So far we have venue, dress, officiant, cake, florist, photographer, DJ, folkorico. Still need mariachi, invitations, tux, BM/Madrina dresses, ceremony design and the hotel room for us after the wedding. it'll come together, i'm certain.
i spend a lot of time on PW getting ideas and hope to learn a lot from all of you. we have 287 more days to go! :-)
Omg. All you girls had so many things done already. I guess I'm on the slow side here. Done list: church (including priest / officiant), reception venue (including catering), flowers, cake, dress ordered (not here yet).
To do list: everything else. Oh man, I'm worried that I would scramble to get everything done at the end! =P
hi june brides! i'm a june 25th bride which doesn't seem to be very popular but what can i say the venue was cheaper on a friday! we're getting married on a yacht so a lot of the planning is taken care of which is good since we're still in school. i have been obsessing over the wedding now that it's summer though! in fact i just paid for my dress tonight and i'll see it in a few months! i also have the venue picked out, wedding party has been made, i'm really liking orange and pink for my colors, captain is preforming the ceremony, honeymoon is booked, FI's cousin is a professional photographer (yay!), food and cake just need to be tested and picked, my cousin is doing my hair and makeup, and the DJ is set by the company so we just have to pick out the music. The next few things on my list are e-pics, possible b-pics, and wedding rings. Has anyone on here heard about any good b-pic photographers in the LA area? There's still a lot to do but I can't wait! PW makes everything so much easier :)
We still haven't set an exact date, but now I'm seriously considering having it at a local outdoor theatre. It's in a rural area and they do some 50's style shows there, so it's unconventional, but has a lot of charm. They do their shows on Fridays and Saturdays, so we'll have to have the wedding on a Sunday. I'm excited about it, though. When I get a chance I'm going to go out to the theatre and take some pictures to post so I can get some input from all the PW girls!
June 26th 2010.
I have the venue, church, officiant (FI uncle) and DJ all booked. We have picked out our menu and all of our bridal party has been chosen and notified.
I plan on DIY flowers except my bouquet.
Other than that I still have TONS to do!I look forward to planning together with you ladies!
We're planning on June 19th 2010. We got engaged a little over 2 months ago and we're just starting on getting the planning going. This week we are putting the deposit down on our reception venue and I still need to get the church locked down. I did buy muy dress though this weekend!!
Well I think I will be inspired by all of you and all the progress you've made already!
brittney what a wonderful venue. i can already envision the floral design for this place.
i have booked the venue, officient, dj, cake, photographer, florist. have purchased STD's, and dress. now i need to mail off STD's and begin organizing my bridal party which is quite small. i'd like to really focus on the ceremony design. later i'll have fun with shoe shopping and bridal accessory shopping. i would like to do a few DIY's.
Hey BrittanyMichael, I'm also getting married in Kentucky. The Harbor House is absolutely lovely! I also was adamantly against getting married in a church, so I chose an outdoor vendor. I know - in Kentucky in June, that's practically suicide, but what can I say? I love nature.
SweetPea, when I was getting my guest list together I put calls in to my close family members (in my case, Mom, Dad and Aunt) and asked them about whom I should include on the list. My fiance did something similar for his side of the family, and then we sat down together and worked up a quick list on paper before I moved on to spreadsheets. Consult your family! That way, if you do miss somebody, it's not even on you anymore.
To all other June brides, yay! We've got the best month of all! But y'all are really terrifying me. Who can help me decipher some of what I'm reading:
I have another question for the group at large. At what point do I have to start talking floral stuff? The thing is, my fiance's family is footing the bill on that one, so I hate to call them up and harass them about it, but it's got to be done. Suggestions? Comments? Advice? And by what day do I absolutley have to take care of the flowers?
