how to decide

I really need some help ladies. Next week we have to finalize our church reservation and I cant decide which one, because we have two to choose from. We live aroun 2hours away from it so I dont go to masses to any of these. The priest is an old family friend who is retired but he could do both

No.1 Medium sized neo gothic church (great for pictures), there I was bapized and celebrated my first communion. It is mor in the city center and therefore provides only very little parking space. plus we have to organize the organ player.

No. 2 a small (just enough for our party), but newly built and not so festive church in a suburb. My mother goes there regularly and knows the vicar. They organize the organ player and there are plenty of parking place around. The priest we have choosen preached there for over 20 years and is very familiar with the building.

Both have a nice area around them incl. a play ground for the kids.

I really dont know what to do!?!?

Hmm, so basically the only thing going for #1 is that it will be good for pictures, right? Which I totally understand wanting beautiful pictures! It kind of sounds like #2 is better overall, but will that mean you need to decorate more there?

Yes I think it's always important for you and your "history". We choosed our church precisely for this reason. DH didn't care in which church we will get married so I said I would love if we could marry in my hometown church. It's also a small one but incredible beautiful (perfect for pics) and it means so much to me. We also known the priest because he is a family friend for years and also did my Baptism. We looked at other churches in the town were we live now but they were so big and cold and dark.

I think parking space is not the most important thing on the church vote. If you love this church more I would go for it and be sure your guest will find a parking place :)

Hope this helps and GL :)

I agree with germanbride. It sounds like you really love this place for its history and style I would go with the one you seem more attached to sentimentally for its history.

i would go with #2! we kind of had that issue too, so we chose to get our daughter baptized at the church i was baptized at, and got married at DHs church because it was waaay more convenient for what we needed. it lacked beauty on the inside though, so we only took a few pictures inside and ventured outside for the pretty pictures. is there anything charming on the outside of #2's property where you can take pictures? or a location near it that you could take pictures at? you dont want people walking down the aisle at the same time as you because they couldnt find parking! (which also would have been one of our issues if we went to "my" church)
