How to decorate mantle for reception

There are three fireplace at the reception.  I am looking for inexpensive ideas for decorating them.  The actually wedding ceremony will take place in front of one of them.  I am planning on putting photos of relatives weddings on one mantle.  I can use battery operated candles provided by the site but they only have four.  The girls dresses are deep purple.  The other colors we are using are dark ivory and a splash of green (mini hydrangea).  I am really trying to minimize the expense.  Thanks for any help!

I had two mantles at my wedding reception. My florist used various hurricane candleholders made out out mercury glass with flowers placed in between them.  You could also use fabric in between the candles.  She also did glo vessels around the perimeter of the terrace that had LED votives in them. They throw off a soft diffused light. You can also get cheap glass candle holders in a cylindrical shape at a lot of dollar stores and cover them in tissue paper to get the same effect.

I would say use photo 234673-1I would say use photo 234673-2

I would say use the pictures and see maybe if you can have all the fire places lit, maybe see if you could hang a mirrior up above the fireplace , or between pictures have vases filled with branches and maybe add some hydrangea.

There is one fireplace at my reception venue. I want to get a good picture of our wedding bands placed on top of piano keys and enlarge it. I think it will be beautiful. My sister said that Walmart does enlargements for a very reasonable price, and I've had lots of photos printed by them before, so I'm going to try that

Thanks for the suggestions - love the tulle but the mantle is painted in an ivory color and I think it would only blend together.  Keep the suggestions coming! Thanks

How about doing a moss wreath or even your initials? If you did a wreath you could hang it from the wall above the mantle with purple or ivory ribbon and then add the votives underneath it. I really think just add a purple runner on the mantle under your frames would look really nice too!
