How to ensure no one bring guests??

So my fiance & i are having a very small wedding with a strict guest list. We have only rented a specific # of tables & chairs, im afraid some people may bring guests but they wont have a table placing. I havent sent out my invitations yet, how can I make sure ppl dont bring guests??

There are a few options for you.....

* Use the wording "1 seat has been reserved in your name"

* If you are using RSVP cards, write the guest's name for them so it is clear that it is only for the

* Spread the word via friends and family that you are planning a very intimate day with only your nearest & dearest

I'm sure the other ladies will come up with some more ideas for you too xx

Ditto the other ladies!! And honestly if somebody still brings somebody and they're not supposed to...then there is no chair for them! lol

We were careful with our wording and people still added guests to their response cards. My Mom and I had to make the awkward phone call to these guests and let them know that we were sorry but they could not bring their guest since it wasn't fair to other guests. Only one of them ended up not coming to the wedding.

Thanks for asking this question because I too am in fear of how to word that.  So I think I will write in the guests names since I think it will make it easier for the RSVP's as well since I have to ask which dish they would like as well.

Thank you for the feedback as well ladies.

Hahah yup, I had a handful...i think there were 4 or 5 of them!

One was 7 and a half months pregnant and added her boyfriend, she said she didn't feel comfortable going without him and being so pregnant (even though her BFF was invited and going). I felt bad but ultimately decided I couldn't add him. TBH she was on my maybe list anyway, it was a co-worker from a past job. If it were a cousin or someone closer I probably would have made the exception there.
