How to get rid of funky bumps on your arms?

What's a good way to get rid of the funky bumps on your arms? I'm not sure what it's called exactly. I use a loofa and vaseline every few days but it doesn't really help. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks so much in advance!!

I'm not sure how much time you have to get rid of the bumps, but I've been taking these pills called 'Healthy Skin formula' and I bought them online from Kate Somerville. I originally saw it in a gossip magazine (about celebs revealing how they get perfect skin before awards shows) and I decided to try it. I have a lot of bumps on my arms and lotions weren't working. After about a week of taking the pills, it actually started clearing it up!

An old coworker also told me that what I have is probably called foliculistis (sp?). I have yet to go to a dermatologist to check it out, so in the meantime I take the pills. Downside it's roughly $30 per bottle, and each bottle lasts a month. Upside, it actually works (and my facial skin improved, too).

I have those bumps too, but its very mild. What I do is use a loofa everyday in the shower, with a really body wash. Then I lotion up a few times a day, once again with good lotion, vaseline lotion works well, and so does Eucerin. When I do this for a couple days they all disappear...I hope this helps.

Kristens ideas sounds good too, especially if it clears up the skin on your face as well. I might look into it just for that reason.

I used a brown sugar scrub everyday for a few months before the wedding.

I'm trying out this scrub I got from sephora in valley fair, right next to the ddf section. The lady at sephora said it works really well and to use it only once a week. So far my arms seem a little bit better, though it's not totally gone. Maybe I should do it more often like the other girls.

It's called Keratosis Pilaris. It happens b/c our skin doesn't naturally exfoliate on it's on. Have you had this for awhile or was it a recent break out. I've had it all my life and hate it. Usually, depending on your skin color, tanning them is the best thing. I'm a golden color, so in the summer, I tan my arms and they are less noticable. Spray tan is great too. I hate them. Interested in this miracle pill Kristen took. My derma said there is no miracle cream or drug for them. It's hereditary...

Oh rmanipol - the pill didn't make them completely go away, but it did minimize the bumps and my arms felt smoother. It was a definite improvement!

I know, I hate the bumps too. My mom says hers eventually faded away, but it doesn't look like it'll happen til I'm 50 =\.
