how to include our daughter in our ceremony?

My fiance and I have an amazing two year old daughter and I really want to include her in the wedding. we decide to not do a sand or unity candle ceremony because we feel she is the physical representation of what those ceremonies mean. I wanted to do a butterfly release with her ( she loooves butterflies!), but he said he thinks it kind of cheesy. Do you ladies have any ideas? Because I am STUMPED!

What about a necklace to give her when you guys exchange rings or a bracelet? You can inscribe it as well.

our almost 2year old daughter walked me down the aisle with my mom! it was so cute and special. she was 19  minths at the time and i really thought it was going to be a disaster bc she cried during the whole rehersal. but come day of, she was amazing! theres even a picture of her opening the door for me to go down the aisle. shes a mamas girl, so i knew my options were either going to be not having her there at all bc she would cry if she saw me and couldnt be with me( which was never an option!) or to be a very huge part in our day. origionally, she was going to be the flower girl. but like i said, she was a mess at rehersal and couldnt really follow the directions to walk down the aisle, even with daddy at the end bc it was sooo long and shes..easily distracted haha.

here she is opening photo 3428650-1 here she is "opening" the door for mama!

here she is opening photo 3428650-2here she is opening photo 3428650-3

and to be quite honest, i was a nervous wreck, so having this little girl hold my hand actually made ME feel 10x better and much more at ease because i was still in "mommy mode" and didnt have as much time to think about the 400 eyeballs looking at me. so it was win win!

Awww I love the idea of walking down with her! I got all teary when I saw those pictures. They are so sweet! That's definitely an option I will consider.

I also really like the idea of inscribed jewelry. That's something she can have forever.

Exactly. It would be like your wedding ring and something she can pass down to her daughter.

I loved getting my Grandmother's pearls that she was given on her wedding day. She had passed away and my Grandfather gave it to me and put them on me the way he did her over 40 years before. I love having that story and when my daughter gets married I will give them to her. You can start a new tradition for your family.

Renewing our vows is a new tradition in my family and I am giving each of the kids an inscribed gift. My 18y/o son a watch my 17 y/o daughter a bracelet and we are trying to find something for our youngest son who will be 12.

Love Kelly's idea! And that is seriously so adorable Kelly! Also, love the bracelet/necklace idea! She will have it forever. if you went with that idea! very meaningful!

i think you should do both! they are two completely different parts of the ceremony!

i saw on some wedding show where after the parents exchanged rings, they gave their baby a bracelet and put it on her at the same time. i thought that was really sweet!

its all going to come down to how well your daughter will be in front of everyone! if our daughter would have stood up there with out getting cranky/frazzled by the crowd, we would have incorporated her in the actual ceremony. but she gets shy infront of alot of people, so we had my mom take her back to the seat once she walked me down.

Here is another idea that one of our PW brides did to include her daughter.
