I dont know what I want to do!!

I am getting SO frustrated! I still don't know what I want to do in life..sad huh? I am about to turn 23, I have an associates degree in liberal arts. I dont want to be a career student so I took this semester off since I am pretty much just wasting my time and money.

When will I know?!?!

I was thinking a nurse BUT I dont like anything that comes out of your front end or back end lol I like to stay busy and be moving, fast pace.

I love love love kids, but dont want to be a teacher. I would LOVE to work in an oncology unit for kids but I am scared I would get too attached :(

I just dont know what to do anymore!

I HATE my job! It's really good pay and really good hours but I am SOOOOO bored!! I am the only employee which has his perks and downfalls plus what am I supposed to do in 10 years when she wants to retire? I will be S.O.L.

It's ok sometimes it takes awhile to figure out what you want to do. I have friends who are 26 and still aren't sure what they want. I'm 23 and graduated in March of 2009 with my bach. in biology and a minor and physics, thought I wanted to go to med school and changed my mind. So, now I graduate in August with my master's of nursing (so I'll be an RN), and I still want to go back to be a CRNA.

If you aren't into bodily fluids then nursing prob. isn't for you. I can tell you that I see some strange/gross stuff on the floor plus you would have to get used to all the smells. But you can work three 12's and be done for the week, so you could potentially have 4 days off.

Oncology units can be tough. I worked in child life on an oncology for at Children's Hosptial and you def. have to be able to try not to get too attached because you do lose some. If you think you want to try it maybe you could volunteer on a unit, I know most pediatric hospital's need volunteers for child life and you get to play with the kids and create activites. If you're creative you could always go into child life since you like kids. They make activites, play with the kids ect and the kids love child life!

Basically, if you HATE your job I would look around and see if you find something that appeals to you. I wouldn't want to stay in a job that I hated.

Child life runs the play rooms and recreation rooms at the hospital and foster therapeutic play/developmental play for children while they are hospitalized. They are also there to suppor the kids and their parents. They create activites and then for children who can't come out of their rooms they send toys and crafts to. They even get gifts for kid's who are in the hospital on their bday. You have a lot of contact with the kids and the family and it really is rewarding, and the play rooms have anything a kid could want.
