I hate my centerpieces

Please shoot me ideas for some easy, pretty & simple centerpieces. I especially love candles. Needs to be a quick clean-up.

I was going to do floating candles in a vase filled with drowned flowers. I don't like the idea now. (plus, buying a whole ton of flowers just to drown them in water? no.) I'm getting low on time and patience and I just want something super pretty & simple. I think I can return the vases I bought and get new ones. The ones I got are shaped like this )_( and they're about 12-15 inches high. I think I hate them now.

Post tons of photos! I need inspiration!! (colors are in bio, but I'm maybe doing some chocolate instead of grey since nothing I have is grey yet)

THANKS!

i hated my centerpieces too. so i went out and bought my own and told my florist haha

we bought black square vases.
half the tables were using the vases and using manzanita branches in them.. and putting just a couple cimbidum orchids on the branches (i wanted it UBER simple). the other half of the tables were using the same vases.. and floating a couple cimbidum orchids and probably putting some rocks at the bottom of the vases.

so half simple.. half not.

what exactally is on your mind when it comes to simple? are you wanting candles.. flowers.. no flowers.. no candles/!!??!?? i can find stuff but not sure what u like!

What about hurricanes with pillar candles, grouped they look quite stunning and if you're outdoors the hurricanes will shield the candles from the wind. If you want floral, you can buy rose petals which are inexpensive and place them all around the hurricanes. White rose petals look beautiful and to clean they can be vacuumed up or swept quickly. I'll have to see if I can find a pic but its a though.

what about something like a potted plant, bonsai or orchid maybe?

I'm oopen to just about anything. The setting is a garden so keeping the tables a little understated works for me. Also, we might be doing a tableside ceremony so something that's low profle would be preferred. I need my officiant/friend/planner girl to go up there with me and brainstorm. I like flowers, but I don't think they're needed. I love candles (easy, pretty, really quick to remove) I love vases/ water/ rocks/ twigs/etc. I'm open to anything!

What about using the vases you have now or returning them for another one and using curly willow in the vase? Curly willow when soaked in water can be shaped, and then you can hang some votives from the branches.

you should consider doing a couple low a couple high.
haha you sound just like i was a week or two ago (hating my centerpieces and not knowing what i wanted)
honestly us buying our vases and using maznaita branches and just adding a couple orchids was perfect for us .. PLUS mind you as i stated earlier only half our tables will have that and the other half will be low centerpieces with just a couple floating cymbidum buds with rocks on the bottom inside the vase. (does that make sense?!)

you can do the same.. cute square or round LOW vases.. add pretty rocks.. and just float a couple flowers. (simple yet pretty and not too much flowers ya know)

- I think I am going to use my different size hurricane glasses with pillar candles and surrounding the inside with red rose petals. I have seen the picture on here before but can't find it now?

- You can still do floating candles and die your water

- Hurricane glasses with colored sand

- Add some colored ribbon to you vases

- HMM :)

Our centerpieces are quite easy to make and pretty. Hurricane vases of manzanita branches mixed w/ curly willow, dendrobium orchids and hanging votive candles.

MrsTong~ That is so funny. I think I have the same vases. I have been thinking that I have to change my centerpieces too because I had planned on soaking flowers in water too. After I talked to the florist she said it was a bad idea. If someone hits the table and the vases fall over water will be every where. Good point but it ruined my plans. SO after reading everyones posts I had an idea. MY colors are chocolate brown and maybe sage green. I came up with this real quick.

I would use real coffee beans instead od ground up beans. And I would put the candles inside the vases and fill up with more coffee beans. The wine bottle has curlly willows in it and it was a decoration I had in my house already. lol
