Spring/Summer 2012 Baby Bumps!

I'm About To Get REAL Personal

Since getting my bfp, dh and I have yet to be intimate. We're both a bit nervous that something will happen and I know our fear stems from our first pregnancy. When I had gotten my bfp that time, we dtd the day after and let me tell ya, it HURT! and I'm not referring to my dh's willy. I mean, it hurt for me to be aroused! Has anyone had that before? Anyway, I slowly had to get into it and when we were done, I noticed I had been bleeding quite a bit.

Fast forward to now. I'm so so nervous and I kinda feel embarassed calling my doc. I've been...ahem, helping dh out in other ways but I haven't had my jollys in a long time! AND (I'm about to be soo embarrassed!) since I haven't gotten mine, I've been having sex dreams and when I wake up, I have that arousal feeling that hurts SO bad. Should I be worried? It's so painful :( Maybe this is the female equivalent to blue balls :/ Give me your advice/opinions, ladies!!

I have not been "with" my husband in any way since our BFP.  I feel bad for him but the dr said not to the first trimester since i had some spotting and both DH and I are too scared...lol.  I've had the dreams which i've read are pretty normal and like you, when I had my dream-gasm I had HORRIBLE cramping!!!!!  To the point I wished the dreams would stop because it was so painful.  So i'm terrified to actually do anything if a dream put me in that much pain.

DH is ok with just kissing and cuddling for now.  Our relationship has never been oober physical anyway so it's not a huge change for us.  So I have no real advice for those lucky ones who have a really strong physical relationship with their husband...I hope this doesn't make me sound like I don't love my husband.  We're just both so busy with work and such that it's never been a priority in our relationship.  Our summer break as teachers is usually our "fun" time!!! ;)

Totally have had those dreams. We haven't DTD since our BFP either. I feel sorry for DH because when we were ttc we did it every day for almost 2 weeks and now nada. I am nervous about it too. Glad to hear I'm not the only one though.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who's worried! Since I haven't had any major symptoms yet, I actually feel "in the mood" every once in awhile but the arousal pain and my fear just nips that idea in the bud. I've decided to not dtd until after our ultrasound appt next week, just so I don't give myself anything extra to worry about and to see what the midwife says!

Honestly, during the first trimester, your sex drive is pretty much non-existant which is VERY common.
Your body is experiencing so many changes, especially down there!

Don't be embarassed about talking to your doctor about it... that's what they are there for.  DH and I weren't super physical during the first tri, but with being so exhausted and not feeling well, he understood.

As for the pain, again.. normal.  I was SO uncomfortable while DTD the first few times, but eventually it does get better again.
The second trimester, you'll get your 'mojo' back and in full force!  It's just one of those things that you have to deal with now, and it will get better :)

This is kinda related, My good friend told me this in figuring out what the bean is:

It's a boy if you want nothing sexual to do with your DH

It's a girl if you can't keep your hands off DH

When she was preggers with her daughter she said all her DH had to do was take his socks off and she was turned on, with her son - she wanted nothing to do with him!

I'm having a boy and what nothing to with DTD business and I know Kat is having a girl and it sounds like she is all for it - so maybe there is something to do with that :)

No dtd for us either and we were put on orders not to do anything when we did our IUI so it has been 7 weeks. Our RE told us no dtd yet but I'm not sure I would have wanted to do it at this point anyway.
Our poor DH's :(
I have had a few low key dreams but haven't had the same experience as you. The "blue balls" might be exactly what it is. We have incresed bloodflow and you are also not dtd so maybe that is where the pain is coming from? I would ask your dr. They have heard everything under the sun and it will make you feel better about things.

I'm definitely the odd man out here. As bad as I feel, we're still DTD. We've always had a very active sex life though. It actually makes me feel better. Sounds funny, but it's totally true. Also, orgasms when pregnant...out of this world. I think it's the increased blood flow to the area maybe?

DH and I haven't had any at all since the beginning of my pregancy.  First because the doctor said wait after 10 weeks and now I just don't feel in the mood at all.  Sure I'll "help DH out" ;) every now and then but that's about it.  Hopefully my 2nd trimester is different....

Julie, Lol, I only found out a week ago that I was pregnant; total shock wasn't trying. I'm six weeks gone. However, I've been totally insatiable since I conceived. It makes absolutely no sense; I'm grumpy and sore and I'm feeling a lot of nausea in the last four days but I cannot keep my hands off the poor man. I've turned into an awful old sleaze bag. Ha Ha. So its not just you!!
